The Guenther House makes its home in an elegant historic mansion on the property of Pioneer Flour Mills in the historic King William area. From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

Calm and relaxing breakfast and priced very nice. And the bakery items are the best ever. Would go again and again.
Too much to see and eat. We were seated in just a few minutes. The trolley driver should have told us that the breakfast was the best. The club with fresh fruit was a notch above any where else.
Our family's first visit and I have to say we will be back. Food was excellent as was th service. Truly a great place to have breakfast.
Every time we come to San Antonio we eat at the Guenther house. I read some of the reviews today and actually some were quite mean. We have never had a bad experience there. The food is good, especially the biscuits! The wait staff was pleasant and the atmosphere and the grounds of the restaurant are so nice. We will continue to go to the Guenther house as long as we visit San Antonio
Beautiful place but too long a wait! No haters here so we enjoyed the yummy cookies and the cinnamon rolls!!
Excellent food, delicious,so picturesque, excellent work staff. Wish I lived next door.
Very good food, we asked for first available seating and ended up outside, which I expected, it was a little warm being August in Texas, but didnt detract from the food. Very friendly staff, food came out looking just as good as pictures I had seen online.
I won't eat anywhere else when we are in S.A we have been coming for over thirty one years and introduced to Guenther house 31 yrs ago and don't go anywhere else. We will drive clear across town to eat here.
Great breakfast. My favorite is the sweet cream waffle with strawberries. Their hazelnut house blend coffee was a cherry on top!

The Guenther House is closed now. It will open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
