The Guenther House makes its home in an elegant historic mansion on the property of Pioneer Flour Mills in the historic King William area. From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

Awesome awesomeness Breakfast was great service could have been a little bit better coffee was not hot but the atmosphere was amazing
We have taking family and friends there when visiting from out of town. Wonderful food and scenery!! The wait staff is always excellent!!! And the food is worth the wait!! Which in our experience and never been very long.
It's Father's Day, we arrived at 9:30am and were told about an hour wait. More than an hour and a half later, we were seated with the absolute most rude waiter. Our brunch turned lunch turned horrible experience was definitely not worth the wait or the food to be treated the way that waiter treated us. Don't ask for refills on your drinks, or for condiments for your food or you will be greeted with rolling of the eyes and bothering him to do his job. It was absolutely a horrible experience and we have been here several times... read more
Husband and I had a date two days (our weekend) and we had heard such great things about this place. We came in, sat down and basically got an "order taker" - No suggestions. No History thou we said it was our first time...Nada. Just the typical "What can I get you? - Are you Ready?" That you get at Dennys. I got the 1861? breakfast and the potatoes were COVERED in seasoning. You couldn't even taste the food. Eggs were underwelming, sausage was dry and hard. The only thing delicious was the biscuit and gravy. My husband got ... read more
Everything was perfect the service, food, and view.
The food was great but the service was terrible. They were not busy when we were there, but could not get service even though many staff were just hanging around doing nothing. Ended up having 3 different people come to our table asking us the same thing - do you want water or anything else to drink? Finally a 4th person brought our coffee. Same with ordering our food, delivering the food and paying the bill - all different people. Never did know who our server was - it's their loss because we are very good tippers if we rec... read more
Love their breakfast. Everything on the menu is delicious!
Visited from Illinois with my son who had just graduated from BMT on the advice of friends. Beautiful setting - we came on a Sat morning, was told it would be a 35 min wait and were seated in 15. Had coffee outside and enjoyed the scenery. We split a cinnamon roll which was amazing - they are the size of a small dinner plate and their biscuits and gravy melt in your mouth. Our waiter was so friendly and we had no issues trying to figure out where to go to be seated. I would go there all the time if I lived in the area. Don't... read more
We always enjoy our brunch here! The coffee and pastries are amazing. I normally get the chicken and waffles my all time favorite! You will have a wait every time you go but well worth it.
