About this business

The Guenther House makes its home in an elegant historic mansion on the property of Pioneer Flour Mills in the historic King William area. From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

Our family was in town for our nieces graduation from boot camp. Some from KS and ID, we had to wait a little over an hour but it really was worth the wait. The food and service was remarkable. We were lucky to get seated outside and the weather was just right.

Have lived in San Antonio all my life and had never visited this place. I was invited to my niece's baby shower on Saturday. After the event my friend and I walked around to visit the area and decided to come back to have breakfast on Sunday. Sat outside in the patio to eat breakfast, it's a nice peaceful and enjoyable place to be. The food is great and staff is wonderful. Great experience and most definitely will return back. ❤

It's a Fiesta tradition if your going to the King William Fair. Get there early, 7 or 7:30am. Parking is refundable if you spend over $25. And then a half block walk to the KW parade at 9 am. Oh, and the food is delicious. The garden and jazz ensemble is an added bonus!

My husband and I were tired of hotel breakfasts on our long trip so we google searched best breakfast in SA. We were not disappointed! Amazing food! And it was beautiful enough to enjoy it outdoors! Highly recommend!
