From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

Super short wait, food was delicious, loved the house & gift shop. Lived in SA all my life and had never been. So happy we stopped in today.
We took family that came to visit San Antonio from Minnesota and North Dakota on Sunday March 19 2017. Weather was perfect so that might account for the extra long wait. Everyone had same idea about enjoying the weather outdoors. We were a party of 10 and it was first time being seated outdoors. Our guests said they so enjoyed eating outdoors with such beautiful weather. The food was excellent, as usual, service was excellent, dessert and coffee was enjoyed by everyone. Excellent food! Outstanding service! Always a great trip
Had the 1851 Platter and I cannot say enough good things to describe how delicious everything was. The biscuit and gravy was definitely. Second time eating breakfast there and will not be last time.
You need to experience visting this place. The service and food are excellent and not pricey at all. The atmosphere is so pleasant. Can't wait to visit and try their lunc menu.
