From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. Love the delicious homemade preserves and pastries. Just didn't care for a 45 minute wait at 10:45am on a Monday. There has to be a better way to turn over tables there.

Absolutely loved the place & the food on Mother's Day. Many thanks to the Aguilar family for the invite to join them. The thing that we did not enjoy but endured due to the nature of the day, we were told it would a two hr wait when we arrived at 10 am. When we ckd again were told it would be an additional 2 hrs and we were finally seated at 2 pm. I understand that this has been a long time practice to make people wait but perhaps on special days such as this, they should take reservations only?
The wait is way to long. Food is good & service was good.
Loved everything about it. The wait was a long but so worth it! The atmosphere, the history, everything was more than expected. A true hidden gem!
