About this business

The Guenther House makes its home in an elegant historic mansion on the property of Pioneer Flour Mills in the historic King William area. From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

I love this place! Ahhh 50 characters. Ok. I'm from Houston, and visit San Antonio sometimes. I love the food The coffee is amazing. It's always hard for me to narrow down what to get at the gift shop upstairs. I want everything, lol!! The history behind the place is a fantastic story. We always have a great time! Thanks y'all.

Absolutely fabulous! Hubs had the Chicken and Waffles, one son had the Pioneer Platter, the other son had the 1851 Platter and I had the Champagne Chicken Enchiladas with the Broccoli Cheese soup. Amazing! So worth the wait... definitely coming back on our next visit!! And the coffee is DIVINE! Bought a bag! See you next time! =D

We got rained out yesterday around 1pm in the outdoor dining. Our waiter had us inside within 7min and we actually enjoyed being caught up in the rain with other people. We giggled and all scooted our tables in the middle, hoping to not get soaked. Lol Great place, great atmospheric experience and the best outdoor coffee !!! I take everyone I care about there! So, this made a great date on a Saturday early afternoon!

Didn't see signs on property telling you where the restaurant was. Got there early morning. They were not at all busy. Waiter had a snobby attitude. Food was premade and slapped on a plate. Food was cold. Totally disappointed in this place and I've wanted to go to this place for years. Shame on y'all!!
