I don't get the long line? – After hearing so much about fish tacos, I was excited about trying their offering (West Side). Disappointed. The line stretched out to the parking lot. Since I already knew what I wanted, I asked the server if I had to stand in line for a to-go item. He took my order at the bar. My order came up-- one warm fish taco in a crumpled paper bag. Great Value – TdS offers the best fried chicken and memphis bbq tacos on the planet. Their salsa trio and sweet tea are worth drive from OTP to ITP. If you go during the week, be sure to go before noon or after 1:30. My toddler loves the open air seating, salsa and fake owl. Give it a try and don't be put off by the bad service reviews. Chowder!!!!! – It's kind of a self-service restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring you the food when it's ready. The menu is limited but the shrimp and corn chowder is out of this world!!!!! One cup just isn't enough. The soft tacos are tasty but small with very little filling. The guacomole is yummy. Don't even try it on a weekday at lunch - the crowd wraps the parking lot.
Needs to learn the basics in service – While waiting in line to order food, the manager let people know that seats were available at the bar for service. My friend and I went and sat up there. After ordering food we found out one more would be joining us. Big deal no problem. Pull up a seat. That was a big mistake. The Great Metro Taqueria – Just Delightful Tasty Soft Tacos - favorite is still the Fried Chicken w/ Lime Jalapeno Mayo; Many SW Low Low Priced Specialties, Delicate Rice and Ohhh, those Collard Greens. rude staff makes it a must miss! – Two words....taco nazi....stay away from this concentration camp mentality of the cashier and table watcher! There is no food worth being scolded for. If you get out of line to get a table, you will be rudely infomed of their policy. The taco nazi "watches" over you as you eat...making you feel uneasy and wanting to leave. line what line? – Actually, I've stood in the line when it ran the full length of the place, and it has NEVER taken more than twenty minutes. I learned to arrive before 11:30am. The food is absolutely delicious! My favorite is the Tinga and if I had to complain about anything, it's the fact they don't offer it as often as some of the other choices. Taqueria Smack Your Lips – My husband and I love this place. It's cheap, crazy tasty and you will crave it after you leave. It's true, the guy taking orders at the counter can be cranky, but the last time we were there he was actually civil! The corn chowder is so yummy you will dream about it and the salsa trio is one of the best in town. Oh how I love the fried chicken tacos. If the sign says they close at 10, come at 9:30. Don't expect to bow to your whims. For cheap eats, nothing is better in Atlanta.
Taco Nazi – OK, the food is good and the service is terrible. Don't even try to get take out - they will not let you get more than 3 items!!! When I tried to add a corn chowder to my 3 tacos, I was told NO! When I asked why, the bartender said "we have to draw the line somewhere". Give me a break!
