MMMMM. . . fish tacos! – I thought people were insane when they recommended this place because of their fish tacos. All it took was one taste! The food is phenomenal & the prices are very reasonable. After reading some of the reviews below, I have to say I never even noticed the staff or encountered problems (and I've been there several times). Tasty Food, Service rude...but you knew that already. – Taqueria del Sol: no other restaurant seems to incite such passion, both for and against. By now, everybody in the southeast knows they are Taco Nazis, so I can't really feel all that bad for the people who break the rules and then get upset about it. Don't go there if you can't handle it. But if you want tasty food for a good price, it's a good choice. Margaritas are always great, my favorites are the fish taco, memphis taco, and fish corn chowder.
Best brisket enchilads in the south...DO go hungry! – New kids to this jewell must learn the ropes to enjoy the experience..which takes about 5 minutes. DO NOT GET A TABLE UNTIL YOU ORDER! Think gentle but firm "table nazis"...the food and drink are the best of class/style in the south and we locals make it a regular habit of eating and sipping margaitas on the patio. Love the food, get to know the staff – Like others on here, I too am a glutton for punishment, but it's the fish tacos that keep me coming back. And the nutty shrimp tacos and the scallops andhabenero cheese grits. Yes, you must wait in line, yes, you can only order 4 items to go from the bar, no, there are no high chairs or table service or ordering for someone else who hasn't arrived or table saving. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE – You have been warned! The food is great but customer service is HORRIBLE! I would rather go and spend 10.00 in a hole in the wall, rather to come here, spend my money and get treated like dirt!!!! CUSTOMER SERIVCE 101! Don't they know WE the customer PAY their SALARY? Very Good – I thought that this restaurant wa very good. I had the mexican rice, which tastes like mexi rice everywhere, but I also had a fried chicken taco w/jalepeno mayo- very nice with a good hint of spice, and the fish taco. yummy. I really liked the place. The line was long and the food took a little longer to come out but on the whole I would love to go there again- there are a lot of other good looking food on the menu such as the shriimp chowder or the salsa trio.
Don't drink the water... – The portions are small for the prices they charge. I paid $9 for three tacos with very little substance. The only thing unbelievable about this place is how unbelievably sick my boyfriend and his sister became immediately afterwards.
Love the Fish Tacos – I always get the Fish Tacos and the Collard Greens. I think that they are to die for. I even make it at home now. I eat there about twice a month and have always found the service to be friendly.
Rude Rude Rude Staff – The food really is good. The staff however are so rude and condesending I really can't believe they stay in business. The Soup N$zi has nothing on these guys...That long blond haired bartendar is a real piece of work. I absolutely loved it when it opened and just thought the servers were having a bad day...I will never give these people my money again....Stay away...
