Great food in a cool location! – There are no reservations...just get in line. The food and margarittas are excellent. Great midtown views and relaxed atmosphere. It's a must during the week or on the weekend.
Absolutely terrible! – My co-workers and I went there for a business lunch. First, we waited in line forever, even though there were plenty of empty tables. We got the food quickly enough. The fish tacos I ordered were very bland tasting. Had to really douse them with hot sauce. After finishing eating the mediocre fare, we were immediately pressured to leave to make room for more patrons. Incredible food and incredibly cheap! – I love the Taqueria. The Memphis is spot on perfect every time and the fried chicken is better than at most places that sell fried chicken. Long line? Grab a margarita at the bar and enjoy it while you wait. The special tacos are hit or miss, but last Friday I had an incredible pork taco in a corn tortilla. Taqueria Del Fool – I agree with the other two people. I also thought that the food was overpriced and not too tasty. If you're into trying to look cool, like standing in line and like paying too much for food that looks/tastes like it's been microwaved than this is the place to go.
Surly Service – Having waiting with anticipation for the Decatur location to open in my neighborhood, I must say I am terribly disappointed. I still like the inexpensive food (especially the Memphis soft taco) but after 3 tries, I'm knocking it off our restaurant list. I have never been treated so rudely by servers and management as I have at this restaurant (all I tried to do was sit down AFTER my spouse had already ordered). Rude, Rude, Rude! – Okay, so the food is great, but I don't like to go to a restaurant and wait in line for half an hour because their system is so screwy. After I get my food I don't appreciate the attitude that the servers seem to have. I actually saw the owner yell at the customers because they had the door open while in line. Well, what do you expect when the line reaches half way through the parking lot! As much as I enjoy the food, I don't have the time to waste.
Rude Food – Let's see..went in, person I'm with starts not feeling well..goes to sit down...ordered to stand up by the staff...explain she is not feeling well...told "those are the rules". O.K.... OH THE CHOWDER – I live in Decatur and I was more than overjoyed to find that my favorite place to get a slow and yummy bite to eat had moved into my backyard!! The talapia tacos are out of this world and the chowder . . .oh the chowder! If you are in the mood to drink, the margarita's are tasty and not at all stingy. And with over 25 diff. types of Tequila to get you going . . .you could really make a party out of it.
Big Disappointment – I heard that this was a really cool place to eat, but after waiting in line for an hour, all I experienced was bland food and a really rude chef. I ordered the Chef's special which was anything but special: a plate of plain white rice and a tortilla filled with some pork. It wasn't even filling.
