Serious south-of-the-border flavors shine in edgy urban digs. – The Scene A pioneer of the Westside area's dramatic comeback, Taqueria del Sol features a futuristic filling-station look. Inside, it's a spartan arrangement of stainless-steel counters, exposed ductwork and gleaming garage doors. A polished wooden bowl filled with oranges, beachy-looking azure cinder block and a wall lined with jewel-toned tequilas make it all feel breezy and far away. The Food Authentic Mexican flavors abound, whether in sporty sounding boutiq... read more

You've Got To Be Kidding – What a horrible place. The food could be free for all I care, but the slow service and incredibly rude staff doesn't make up for it! At this point, I think it's necessary to clarify what I mean by slow service. Once you've ordered, the food practically beats you to the table. The long line to get in, on the other hand, moves so slow that it's difficult to comprehend why. I mean, there's not much to the menu. Pretty straight forward... What kind of taco will you have. So the big question is - what i... read more

DEEEEEELICCCCCCCIOUSSSSS – This place is soooo yuummy. I am addicted to their fish and chicken tacos...mmmmmm...I have been there many times and have never had to wait a long time for service and you rarely have to interact with anybody that works there to get a feel for the quality of service. You order your food in the line. Someone delivers it and thats it. It is a really quick transaction...I am not sure what all the complaining is about in relation to bad service...but take a chill pill people. The food is out of this w... read more

Excuse me? – I've been enjoying TdS for years and I've been willing to accept some snippishness and some strict seating restrictions (no pushing tables together until you have more than 6 people present, no sitting down before you have your food, etc.) that are enforced rather rudely (making you feel like an errant teenager). However, since my most recent conflict, I will not go back. After an hour of sitting, THE MANAGER ASKED US TO LEAVE. I pointed out that THERE WERE TWO OR THREE OTHER EMPTY TABLES ON THE PATIO. He said, ... read more

User review by mrc123 – Why does the Citysearch review say this is a good place to go with kids? This needs to be revised! Of all the restaurants I have visited in Atlanta with my son, my experience at Taqueria was the worst! The line extends outside, and forget about trying to sit down and start feeding your cranky toddler while someone fetches food for you. You will be forced to get up, in a very rude manner, by the unfriendly waiter. The taste of the food is very good, but Atlanta has sooo many fantastic Mexican restauran... read more

Bad service, so-so food:What more could you want? – Upon arrival, you stand in a line to order. If you do not know ordering procedures, the owner and/or manager make you feel like an idiot (sit at the bar and you get to hear how critical they are of their paying customers). You can't be seated without ordering first, even if you bring your grandmother with a walker. It's very difficult for parties >4. The food can be inconsistent. If you ask them to cook the chicken tacos more, they make you feel like an idiot again. If you ... read more

Taqueria del Bell – I've been to TdS several times and had a less than courteous encounter with the staffs. Recently, after placing my order, I was handed a soda but not a tea. I kindly asked her if she got my tea order. (I normally get their marqueritas to pass the time in line, not tea). She rudely retorted with "That's what the cups with ice are for" and hastily pointed to canisters in the far corner. There were several paper cups filled with ice on the counter. She didn't hand me a cup, just the soda. How was I to know? ... read more

the best tacos with a little 'tude on the side – Last year I reviewed this restaurant after having been treated very disrespectfully. I boycotted the place for a while. My pregnant wife would sneak out, behind my back, and get herself the occassional fish taco from the taco nah-tzi. I couldn't hold out any longer and a few months ago, we returned. Not only was everyone very polite and courteous, they were very accomodating to our large party with children (not something they were famous for). The last half dozen times we've ... read more

something different – The line is usually out the door, especially for dinner. Try going around 2pm on Saturday when the line is short. The fish tacos, cheese dip and margs are great. It's a great alternative to the usual mexican.
