BAD place - BAD people - BAD cars This is the worst place from coast to coast I bought a car from. Horrible experience with sales, endless lies and broken promises, they were rude and utterly unprofessional. Service here is the biggest joke. Took the car in with two problems and a week after I picked up the car with the same problems after hundreds of dollars spent. They promised me to pay for the rental car and guess what... why would the keep one promise after everything they lied about. Truly this is the most unprofession... read more

Service department - multiple problems! Had a very unfortunate and disappointing experience. After 4 days they could not diagnose my car's problem. I got conflicting reports and comments from the tech (mechanic) and the service manager. When I asked to speak with the tech and look at the car with him, he kept us waiting and then emerged obviously irritated and short tempered. The car overheated less than 10 minutes down the road after we left the lot, and we had to have it towed to a new place. When I called to get a refund ... read more

Customers Treated Like Family My son has been to the Herzog-Meier service department twice now in the past year for his Touareg with major problems. Each time the service consultant Nick has worked with my son, he has showed nothing but true professionalism. My son tells me he is the most reliable person you can ever meet, and he treats you like a family member.

The typical sales people Oh boy, these salesmen were just like the ones you hear about that are VERY pushy. I've gone there twice and both times been unhappy with the salesmen. I even told the second one that I was reluctant to come back because of the first one. The service department, however, is incredible. They are very prompt and call at regular intervals to give you an update on the progress of your repairs. My advice; Buy your car somewhere else but have it serviced at Herzog Meier.

Easy, relaxed sales experience The sales experience at Herzog-Meier is outstanding. My sales person was Doug Galloway and I enjoyed his sense of humor and never felt a bit pressured on any decision. I believe Doug genuinely wants the car buying experience to be as relaxed and easy as possible. I also appreciated the time he took to go over features of the car and offered that I could call him personally with any follow up questions. I am enjoying my awesome new XC70!!

Do NOT buy a car from Bernardsville VW! This place is a nightmare! NEVER buy a "certified pre-owned car" from them! They pay for the certification papers and never run the certification tests! I've only had my car for a year and a half and it's spent more that 6 months total in the shop! My catalytic convertor broke a week after I bought the car, it took them over 2 months to "fix" it, and now it's broken again. I can't even count all the things that have broken on my car in the past year and a half! Thanks a lot Bernardsvil... read more

Service I think that Bernardsville Volkswagen has a very good service shop. I have never bought a car from Bernardsville Volkswagen, but my car has spent a lot of time in the shop. Volkswagens are notorious for either having chronic electrical problems, or never having any problems. Mine is the chronic type, and I went to many body shops before Bernardsville. Bernardsville keeps my car on the road. Literally. It is slightly expensive, which is what happens when you take your car to the dealer for repairs, but it is well wort... read more

Worst service experience EVER... wish I could give them zero stars Like many others have said, we have felt obligated to use SSVW for service many times because it is the only convenient dealer nearby. That said, we have NEVER had a positive experience in the service department there. We always leave feeling as though we've been ripped off. We've often been misinformed. We've often experienced poor customer service and poorly estimated time frames, etc. Last year, my husband spent $600 on a new "oxygen sensor" after his car ... read more

stuck in durham My wife and I were on an east coast trip in May of 2012 when I left my lights on over night killed the battery and had to get the security code reboot to start the car. This happened on a Saturday afternoon as we were getting ready to leave for an hour and a half ride to our next visit. Bill Rate and Andrew Biesemeir, service advisors, got us in and out in about an hour. Friendly and prompt service. Thanks again from a Wisconsin TDI owner.
