Paid in full an non refundable deposit for a 5 nights stay back in September for next year's Dragon Con. Now they decided that the rate was "approximately $20" less than they want a night and charge me for a city tax that has not went into place yet. How is it the guests fault they listed the wrong amount and did nothing about it for 5 months when all other host hotels for the event are sold out ? Then threaten to cancel the reservation if the new amount is not paid in full within 15 days. Bait and switch at the best. Pure e... read more

I think that sending out emails saying there was a mistake on your end, and that more money is needed to keep a reservation that was paid for in full up front is horrible business. Not even a phone call? What if I hadn't seen the email? Would I get to Dragon*Con only to find out you've cancelled my reservation???

I have a 100% prepaid reservation for a room for 2017 DragonCon. Now Sheraton says that they made an error on the room rate, and I owe more. No, I don't. Your profit margin just got reduced. Deal.

Completely unethical practices. After paying for a room a year in advance for the full stay, they send out an email stating the cost will now be $20 more per night and an extra tax percentage will also be added on. This is not good business practice.

Ripping people off on their dragoncon stays will not get you good reviews.

Total extortion on the DragonCon bookings for 2017! Like many others commenting on this page, I had booked the room in September 2016 for the event in August 2017. The room fees had to be paid UPFRONT and were 100% non-refundable. Then in February 2017, I received an email saying that due to a computer error I, along with hundreds of others, was undercharged and would have to pay an additional $20/night or my room would be cancelled and they would ever-so graciously refund me my hotel fees. At this point, most hotels near th... read more

Total mishandling of this year's DragonCon room rates! Totally unacceptable! Contacting only via email in a way that looks completely like spam, expecting guests to foot the bill on their error, threatening cancellation of rooms that are already completely paid in full if the person is unaware or unwilling to pay more than previously agreed upon rate!! Also, virtually all staff at the hotel location level, starwood rewards, & corporate levels were initially clueless, baffled, & in disbelief at the time the emails went out & ... read more

I've been staying at the Sheraton for the past 7 Dragon Cons. I wasn't too happy about having to pay for my entire stay in advance and now I find out they want more money? Six months later? It's not like I can find another hotel at this late date. I paid the difference, but doubt I'll stay there next year. BAD BUSINESS!

When I agreed to payment in full at time of booking, I expected that to be payment IN FULL. That you'd damage your brand this badly over $20 a night makes me wonder what other terrible management practices are going on.
