I can't believe you are going up on your rates for dragon con after we have already paid as well as stayed with you the past 3 years I would have said we WERE loyal customs.
Deciding that you got the rate wrong months after you took "payment in full" for a room is beyond sketchy. Your terms state "Your prepaid deposit cannot be refunded, even if your new room rate total is lower." You want to have it both ways... It also says "RESERVATIONS ARE FULLY PRE-PAID AND NON-REFUNDABLE AT TIME OF BOOKING. " What part of we already FULLY pre-paid don't you get.
I believe the Sheraton Atlanta made a huge mistake in insisting that guests pay for their error with the Dragon Con rates. It may be legal but it's terrible customer service and an awful way to run a business. It was the hotel's mistake and the hotel should pay for it.
The customer service at this hotel is absolutely abysmal. And if you book a room and pre-pay in full they will still jack up your room rate before your stay and strong arm you into paying additional money. If you don't pay up they will cancel your reservation and keep what you've already paid. BUYER BEWARE!
I paid 100% of the room cost over a year in advance of my stay for a yearly event in Atlanta. Now, with half a year to go before our reservation weekend arrives, they increased the price and gave us two weeks to pay the difference or they'll cancel our reservation. For the past four years, the Sheraton was always my first choice of hotel to stay at. From here on out, the Sheraton is my hotel of absolute last resort in Atlanta.
NOT HAPPY! They are currently gouging DragonCon guests who pre-booked and pre-paid in full by demanding more money due to "a computer error" or they will cancel our reservations. It amounts to extortion and is poor business practice. We reserved rooms and paid in full based on the quoted rate at a given time. It should not be our burden if they had some glitch in their system. I will do my best to NEVER stay at a Sheraton again.
So you're holding all the dragoncon attendees reservations hostage? Seriously? You have the harshest booking policy of the hotels for dragoncon. 100% payment, paid in full, due at the time of booking, NON REFUNDABLE. To get a room I had to book it on mid August 2016 for a stay over labor day weekend 2017. That's over a year in advance! You've had my $1000 for SIX MONTHS and NOW you're telling me that if I want to keep that reservation I need to give you over $100 more to cover you're mistake? Making people book a room a full year in advance for Dragon Con and forcing us to pay 100% of the cost up-front and non-refundable only to be told FIVE MONTHS later that they need an extra $20/night or they will cancel the reservations due to a "computer malfunction" during booking. It took you FIVE MONTHS to discover a potentially multi million dollar accounting error? Either you have the most incompetent accounting staff in the world or this is Bait and Switch. Have you people no shame?
Bait and switching people on the price who have paid in full for half a year is unethical. Shocked to see this from such a large company who should know better about what a PR nightmare this would cause.
