Less than 1 star. I just cancelled by Sears Hime Warranty which is nothing but a scam. The repairs on my fridge started a year ago. They quoted me $900 to repair my ice maker! However, if you sign up for the warranty, that number is magically drastically reduced. Purchasing a warranty for my washer, dryer and cooktop from Sears was the worst mistake so ever made. Sears used to be one of the most admired and profitable Fortune 500 companies. We purchased a Kenmore Elite refrigerator from Sears in March of 2016, the compressor has failed so a service technician was sent to our home to diagnose what we already knew- that the compressor had failed. The new compressor was sent to our home and we were given a service technician appointment day and time of a 5 hour window. It is becoming more and more apparent why Sears is closing. I have used Sears Home Services for years and am appalled how awful it has got. I have tried to get a duplicate copy of a receipt for months and every time my appointment is supposed to take place, I take off all day, just to be told about 2 hrs before the end of the day that the appointment is cancelled. We cancelled an order of over $1,000 for a dishwasher, which they couldn't get their crap together and deliver it, over 13 business day ago. We still haven't receive our return $. When I called, after waiting on the phone for 45 minutes to talk to someone that I could hardly understand, they said that it would be 7 to 10 business days! I think I just got scammed by Sears.com online orders from who knows where.
The home service is okay - But the billing is horrible! I paid the fee on the day of the service and was sent a receipt acknowledging my payment. A month later, I receive an invoice saying I didn’t pay and would be sent to collections if not paid in 90 days. I take my credit score seriously, so this triggered me. Placed an order for a box of 50 items on their online marketplace from a seller and received only 1 item. I contacted the seller to either ship the missing 49 items or a pre-paid return label. Sears service is horrible! I purchased from Sears a LG refrigerator on Aug. 25, 2012. It has been serviced Dec, 2016, Jan, 2018, and Oct, 2019. The most recent service call was on Wednesday, Oct 16, 2019. I called Sears Repair who uses Lessna Repair Service for my warranty protection. The Technician (David) arrived at 8:00 am on Thursday, Oct 17, 2019 to access the refridgerator.
