Horrible service – Looking at all the reviews, it seems the service tends to vary quite a bit. For my experience, right from the start of the night when we arrived we really had the impression they could care less. So, after a little while we decided to go elsewhere with our money especially when we realized a couple sitting near us had been there for quite awhile without ANY service.
Good Music, nice atmosphere! – While i had a good experiene at Sambuca, i was disappointed that after making a reservation for a Birthday dinner, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. I also read somewhere that they had a 2-hour limit on their tables which is not the case anymore(old policy, according to the manager). Poor service, inconsistent food (great music, though!) – The Sambuca in Nashville, TN seems to be superior to the Houston locale in both service and food. The Houston Sambuca has the potential to be equally as great, but our recent experience was less than desirable. There are some major issues that need to be addressed: 1. Our table of 4 was crammed in btwn. 2 very large parties, so we could barely get into our chairs without bumping into people. Stealing Money!! – I went to Sambucas Saturday night and had a pleasant time. I sat at the bar the entire time I was there because I only had drinks. I recieved my bill signed it then left. Low and behold I check my bank balance today and notice that and extra $5.00 was added to my bill. I checked my receipt again to make sure I didn't make and error and sure enough the bartender added $5.00 to my bill. Extremely fun night out – My wife and I went there last night for our 14th anniversary and we had an absolute blast. I had been wanting to try this place for some time, and we finally did. The food was excellent - 4 to 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. In particular my wife's fillet and the seafood innovation that I had were extremely good. The best thing about it was the atmosphere, which was incredible. Nice, chic decoor, and the live music was outstanding. Not too loud so as to make it a "noisy" place. Bad Service ruins it all!!! – We were really surprised by the bartender's attitude...absolutely unacceptable. You think a named restaurant/bar in downtown would care about its staff behavior toward customers no matter what color of skin they may have!!! I'd never been treated so rudely and out of place by a bartender and even when I walked away and asked other staff about being served, they sent us back to the bar where we only had two options of choosing someone overly ill mannered or someone who was really busy working and... read more

If you have the money, they have the time – The restaurant is beautiful, very nice to get away from kids and other groups of people. The beignets for an appetizer are amazing, seafood enchiladas, and seafood that is stacked. The prices are outrageous. The portions are nice, not too small or big. The parking was a challenge to find, I would recommend going at night on a weekday like we did. I really did enjoy it. But a price of 100.00 for two people was a bit more than we were prepared for.
go here – Me and my fiance love this place. There's always a great band and a fun atmosphere. The food is great and the drink prices are reasonable. My fiance loves the beignets-they're her favorite. Personally I really like the steaks. All in all, if you are looking for a great place to take a date, or just need a place to go hang out Sambuca should be on the top of your list.
