Not for the food – Sambuca is a great place to meet people for downtown events. But... Even though they have great bands playing most nights, don't go to dance. The food is inconsistent at best. On 3 occasions we received cold food. For the price, there are better places to eat. Just meet friends for a drink and move on.
Super Sambuca!!! – We were one of the lucky ones on Friday (1/30), who got in to Sambuca Jazz Cafe before it got too crowded! All of downtown was crazy and fun, but I do have to say that we had the best time ever at Sambuca! The Shape Shifters were performing and the entire place was sizzling with excitment. We got to eat dinner (which was delicious) and had a perfect view of the stage. We promise to be back before Super Bowl!!
Live Music, NO COVER – I went to Sambuca with a group of ladies for a Bachelorette Party last weekend and we had the best time! My good friend is getting married and as one of her bridemaids, I had to find a place to take our group. Sambuca was the SPOT! There was live music and hot guys! Plus, there was NO COVER! Sambuca is a great place to hang out with beautiful people!
Attention to Detail!!!! – I went to Sambuca Jazz Cafe with my then boyfriend on Tuesday, January 20th and my life changed forever! AS we walked in with our party of 4, the hostess was most pleasant and seated us immediately. I had no idea what was in store for me until about midway through when the perfromer, Jawad paused and announced that there was a gentlemen in the restaurant that would like to propose to his girlfriend. Lousy Service, mediocre food – The service was the worst I have ever had. 30 minutes just to take our appetizer order, another 45 or more to get our check, all together just over 3 hours. We had planned to go somewhere afterwards but the service was so slow we were not able to. The Tuna was fair, the Mahi way overcooked and dry (both ordered medium rare), after dinner coffee must have been burned for hours, cheesecake had freezer burn. I wouldn't go back to eat. My Birthday Party! – My wife set up a surprise for my 48th Birthday this year and she selected Sambuca Jazz Cafe for my party! She told me we would go there for a quiet Sunday Dinner and then to the theater. However, we arrived at Sambuca to find 18 of my closest friends and family members there to help us celebrate. My Experience! – My wife and I had the opportunity to visit Sambuca Jazz Cafe on Friday, January 9th and we had the best time. A friend recommended that I take my wife there after the romatic evening that he had, so I did and I was not disappointed. Sambuca Jazz Cafe is every bit as wonderful as my friend said it would be! A BLAST!!!!! – I had never heard of Sambuca Jazz Cafe, until a friend told me about Yvvone Washington (a repeater performer at Sambuca). Loving Areatha Franklin the way I do, I made sure to see Ms. Washington. She was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Not to mention the food, the drinks and the service! Our waitress was not only attractive, but extremely pleasant and my entree, the Kansas City Bone-In Strip was perfect. I am now a faithful Sambuca Patron!!
