Cozey date spot. – This place was so much fun. I went on a Thursday night for a first date. We sat in one of the couples booths, and had cheesecake. The cheesecake wasn't anything exceptional, but the atmosphere was so fun. If there wasn't a warm draft blowing when the waiters went outside that blew our table cloth up, it would have been perfect. Thursdays are salsa night, so it wasn't quite as romantic as I thought it would be, but it was still wonderful.
Birthday Disaster – Yesterday was mine, my boyfriend's, and grandfather's birthday. We decided that we would try something new with our party of 15. Big mistake! The food is way overpriced, they were very slow to refill drinks, brought 2 of our guests meals out 30 minutes after the others, and when the manager brought them to the table he said the reason for the delay was that we did not know the proper terminology for steaks. Horrible Service – I used to live in the Rice Lofts and went there when it first opened - I couldn't say more about how good it was until recently. I took a friend who was visiting for an evening there. The waiter was uninterested, the service was horrible, my meal was disgusting angel hair pasta with a marinara and an alfredo sauce the shrimp were dismal small and unappetizing. What a wonderful night! – I had a great time in Sambuca last night! I've been there a couple of times before, and basically last night was the most pleasant one! I found my favorite dish - Peppercorn Mélange Yellowfin Tuna, although it took 40 minutes to get it. And the bond was just as great! The lady singer is a bit behind, but the guitars and the drummer (he also sang) created a very joyful atmosphere, presenting a mix music of verve, classic and smooth jazz and some latin music. Certainly will go back!
Disappointing... – I am a big booster of downtown... and have always thought it was great that Sambuca choose to locate in the heart of the city rather than in the suburbs. However, after two consecutive disappointing experiences at Sambuca, I'll be taking my business elsewhere downtown. I talked my family into attending brunch there on a Sunday afternoon. awesome JAZZ – This place is great to hang out at night. The drinks are awesome with the wine so smooth and the long islands so strong.
Fantastic – This place is awesome..I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a great time...the food was good..the atmosphere was even better. If you want to have a good time, eat a nice dinner and listen to good jazz...then sambuca is the place to be.
THE BEST!!! – If you're downtown and don't go to Sambuca (at least for the drinks, music, and great people!) then stay out of Downtown! This place is still rockin'!
A-1 Service – This place is immaculately decorated. Plush stylish contemporary with an eclectic feel. I was overwhelmed by the incredible service and wine list. The band was superb, doing covers from Mendez to Jobim. The restrooms in this place were even incredible. The food, though beautifully presented, was only average.
