The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. Burger was delicious. Milkshake was ridiculously awesome! The glass arrived with another container, which contained enough to fill the glass a second time! My only complaint? My server, who was very attentive while I was waiting and ordering, seemed to forget about me when it was time to pay. I had to wait nearly fifteen minutes to pay for my lunch. If I was in a hurry, I would have just paid at the register.
It was great and the Denver omelette was awesome!
Always friendly, always delicious! American diner fare. The ocean view is amazing.
I enjoyed the food and the service Jennifer was very nice . One of the items that wasn't for our southern taste was taken back without hesitation . My favorite place in Huntington Beach.
Been too long!!! Best fish and chips anywhere!!! Great malts and sundaes. Wonderful Valentine's Day!! The host was so friendly and had plenty of time for small talk. Service was over the top (Kellie!)

It was a great time with family, the food and service was great and the view is incredible. Will dine there again .
Shocked to walk in on a Saturday early afternoon and have a table available with an ocean view! Emily was our server and was wonderful with our 3 grandchildren. Our kids were excited and managed to spill their root beer floats and drop a basket of fries, and the crew helped us without a bit of frustration with the kids. Very family friendly restaurant and menu.
