The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. Ruby's is always a kid-friendly, fun dining experience and you can't beat the view at the HB Pier location.
Server was nice. But, long wait for food which was nasty. Only to wait all over again for a new plate to be cook while my part of 5 watched me eat. I do not recommend this place ever.
Just the absolute best service and food ever!!! Our waitress Lauren was a living doll...so sweet, very attentive, just the best. Awesome view, spotless bathrooms.... I could go on and on about how impressed we were... ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Will be going back again and again <3
The food is quite good. The burgers remind me of in and out but a little better in taste. The only negative was that it establishment seemed a little messy.

The food was great. The service, not so great. But at least it was a nice walk down the pier.
As a former server I feel I am pretty fair on how I rate our service. I had a party of 7, it was not busy, it took 15 minutes to take our order. Our drinks came out quick once we ordered and our food didn't take too long either, except for mine. It was another 15 mins before I got my food while everyone ate around me. Two of our burgers had sauce that we asked plain. Which she took back when I finally got my food. Had such an awesome burger yesterday and loved my view. Waitress was a sweet heart.
Great service, killer views from the second level and the food was very good. That being said it is diner food so don't expect lobster and fillet mignon.
