I am a paying customer ! My payments is every other Saturday but due to financial problems I pay no later then Monday! A day before the late fees hit.. I've had problems with rent a center threating me over a day late payment. The way they threaten people to pay is not right! Then they say "they don't want to come out and get your stuff"after you done aruge with them . What's the point of making threats? I feel like all that is unnecessary. I'd give them no stars but that isn't an option. I have been harassed, my newborn son wakes up screaming because they will pound on our door! We are a young couple who just wanted stuff for our home before our son was born we made a lot of payments I'd say over 3,000 and we couldn't pay them for a minute due to my health issues, car issues and so forth. The last time my wife and I bought anything from this place we never got a owners manual, they would not listen to my wife on how to bring the fridge in and the fridge was dented, after awhile to where it was at the end of the payments the ice maker wasn't working anymore and to get a new ice maker or it repaired we had to sign a new agreement for a new fridge and we were told anything goes wrong during the duration they will fix it or replace it free so we got stuck with the fridge. I have dealt with Rent-A-Center for years but today I would say would be the worst experience that I have ever had with them an associate at the William Cannon location in Austin Texas came to my house today and pretty much harassed me was so close to my door that when I opened it she was pretty much nose to nose with me I slammed my door and told her to leave my property she refused to leave the whole time standing outside my house doing nothing but talking crap she has left nasty messages on my phone as well as my mothers ... read more

after a week of purchase from Preferred Leasing, I noticed the table and the bench became wobbly.. I called preferred leasing the same day and customer service told me i would have to speak to a supervisor however no one was available and someone would contact me about the matter. I never heard back from anyone. I followed up with numerous phone calls and emails to no avail to date. I spoke with several customer service representatives and they all told me per my contract I would have to pay $200.00 before they would pick up... read more

I purchased a bedroom set and living room set and use to pay on time all the time .I lost my job and was unemployed I filed a claim with rent a center benfit plus .They explained their were back up at least three weeks and that the store couldn't see the claim until it was in review .I called the store and let them know I filed a claim but it hasn't been processed yet due back up claims .The manager at this location in Lauderhill was so disgusting and rude he even hung the phone while I was trying to explain the situation to... read more

Philip S*** a manager in Raytown MO is very unprofessional. He called me and cussed me out because a stolen pizza of mine was found in his trash. He threatened to come to my house! Not a single district manager has bothered to call me. I am VERY UPSET

I wish I could give them a -10. I initially went to purchase furniture through them but when I signed the contract the furniture was delayed by 5 months so I canceled the contract. They continue to take money out my account for 2 months. I contacted them letting them know the situation they informed me they would refund the 2 months. 19 months later no refund and they have been reporting on my credit report as delinquent and this last month dropped my credit 19 points.
