They stopped by my house (*******, MA) after I missed one payment and they kept knocking and walking around the house screaming my name - I was in the shower. The window in the bathroom was open so I could hear them calling their boss who was telling them to just walk into the house since the winter door was closed (but the screen door was open). They moved their truck up and down the driveway, honking the horn.

I purchased a furniture set through Preferred Lease and have had nothing but problems. They reported the total amount to a single credit bureau as being twice the contract price then when I disputed it with the credit bureau they just removed it altogether instead of fixing it, which didn't help me out at all. Fast forward to three payments left, THREE, and they double draft me leaving my bank account in overdraft. I call and they tell me that they can refund me the second payment in a week. I went into a rent a center store and did a custom order, they took a copy of my I.d, and I filled out and signed paperwork on august 5th, 2021. Since then I have called the store (about once a week, for the 6 weeks they told me it would take for my couch to be delivered) and asked about an order number to track my order and no one had an answer, Every time I called I was told they would talk to their manager and get back to me. Better sevice and prices up the street, Misti is the owner operator of Action the family run business since to 70's. They carry better product for a lower price, If she doesn't have what you wnant, she' go find and buy it for you. I worked for RAC and their collection practices were hard core, They knock on your door wanting to know why your 3 days late and demand the product back if its not paid to the man in the street immediately! Aaron's is pretty much the same way.

I've had numerous calls for RAC to make Payments on the same day its due. Calls from No caller ID's , their personal phones, texting as well. They texted me saying "Your payment is due we will be to your moms house" ??? To Harass my mother. They threatened to call the police last time on her. She does not understand English fully and had a uneventful traumatized experience when they showed up to her house.I changed mt address notifying them I moved as well and they had no recollection of it. I needed to rent a washer and dryer for 5 months, so I contacted Rent-A-Center at ***************** **** in Cincinnati. My initial contact was with Marigrace S. (full last name omitted for privacy). It took me a few days to shop around and in that time, Marigrace S. called me 3 times so I gave in and committed over the phone. She informed me that she needed my drivers license number, my DOB and my SS#. I told her I was not comfortable giving her my SS#, but she said that she could not rent it to me without my number. Rent a center is a joke. I don't know if all are like this but from where I live they only care about your needs if you owe them money. If you owe them money and refuse to pay theyll handle your issues quickly. Other than that its constant being on there tail to get stuff done.

I was a former customer of Rent-A-Center for approximately 3 months in which on third month I failed to make my payment on time I contacted Rent-A-Center as I am a currently in stage 3 colon cancer in chemo on my 6 month of chemo and dealing with all 5he side effects and challenges that come with this.
