There are better places – I always wanted to try this place because the decor looked nice and I've heard good things. I went there for my early dinner and ordered Pad Thai. They just opened for dinner after their break and I was the only guest to dine. The lady, I don't know if she was a hostess or waitress or the owner, was not attentive or helpful. I asked for their popular dish and she just said, "everything" and left without a smile. Well, I was hungry and sometimes the good food can make up for the bad service. The food... read more

Fav Thai place. – Just can't get enough of this place. The panang curry is so damn good, When all the chickens gone I use a straw to suck down the rest of the sauce. I get strange looks from other customers and employees, but let them stare. I love me my panang curry.

Always good – I've never been disappointed with Rambutan. I always know what to expect. Good people, quality service and excellent Thai food.

too big for its boots – this was a nice little restaurant when it first opened. But the prices have risen over the years and the quality of food has dropped. This is dumbed down Thai food for western palates. For half the price, you can get better food anywhere else in Thai town.

Continued Quality – Rambutan Thai continues to hold it's head above all other Thai restaurant in Los Angeles. With quality ingredients and mostly good service, this busy eatery is well worth the wait on busy nights.

Best Thai in LA – Rambutan Thai is the best Thai I have ever had in LA. The only place I have had better thai was in New York. Overall, the restaurant is sexy and fun, and the food is delicious. Definately try the bbq duck in red curry - it's fantastic. The soups are also to-die-for. Great for a date, or great to go with just friends. Highly recommended!

Unexpected. – What a delightful surprise! Candidly, I didn't know what to expect but I've been hearing the buzz so I decided to give Rambutan a try...and it was absolutely outstanding! I dont have a single bit of criticism. Rarely in LA have I experienced such professional and courteous service and the food was second to none. Aside from all that, the decor and ambience was remarkable

Great Thai Food, Prices, and Place – You know how with Thai food, it's either *good* food at a lousy looking place or *inauthentic* food at a good looking place? Well, at Rambutan, you get both GOOD food served in a great looking restaurant. The food is authentic and served by really attentive and well-dressed staff (most likely hailing from the same gorgeous Thai family!). Small plates is a brilliant take on Thai food, as a lot of Thai appetizers tend to be smaller and distributable. Had the "jungle curry" and it was good a... read more

Behind a demure facade lies a pearl. The atmosphere allures you but it is the food that seizes you. We sat along the end of the bar among those without the patience to wait for a table. Tapas were our choice for the evening.... Nua Kem, Curry Dumplings, Crab Rolls, Mee Krob. Vivid flavors that awakened our palate. The two beautiful women sitting to our immediate left were more than delighted to share, in their experience, their favorites. Their influences did not disappoint. We couldn't help but precede and conclude with a F... read more
