Cheers – A place where everyone knows your name. No kidding. When you try "the tan" as we affectionatly refer to it; ask for Annie, Katy, Vikki, Adrian. Mend, Oi, I hope I didn't forget anyone. Oh Yeah, Pook & Fernie. Have fun! Read the other reviews about the food and drinks. All good.
Gorgeous Mag – Saw the ad & read the review in Gorgeous. Had to "see what all the fuss was about". I had the Straw Noodle Appetiser which was fab. I shared the crying tiger beef and pad thai with a friend and can't say anything but wonderful things. Very friendly happy people like other reviews mentioned. A great bottle of Sauvignon Blanc helped add to a terrific meal.
Tasty – Authentic?. Really? Every review for thai restaurants say "authentic" and they're not. If you've been to Thailand, the seafood is straight from th ocean to your plate, literally. The chicken has a different texture than here (the chickens are really tiny in thailand) but they just taste better. The fruit is picked from the vine ripe. Stop saying that the food is Authentic!!! Stop It! Rambutan does a better job than most restaurants with using high quality ingredients, real coconut milk in the curry and fresh seafood ... read more
Lovely – Beautiful Waitresses, Gorgeous Waiters...I want to eat them all up. Arrived at the restaurant at 8pm, didn't leave until close. Drinking, dancing (well I was dancing,, to hell with everyone else) Lots of good spicy food, made me drink too much. Hell who's kidding, I'm a lush.
Good Vibrations – Coming from the west side I was pleasantly suprised by Rambutan and the whole Silverlake Vibe. Friendly staff and interesting crowd. I ended up at the bar waiting for friends and was made to feel quite at home. The dining experience was excellent. I loved the Esan Sausage and the Pork Chop is mouth watering. I will definitely go back.
Super Sexy Dining – I am going to keep my review "FRANK" and to the point. The food, simply put the best food I've had all things considered. The prices, better then fair, Variety, from beginning Thai eater, to Thai afficionado, they have it all. The atmosphere, I knew the first time I walked through the door I was some place special. The bar, which encompases the most important part of the review, the staff. The friendliest, most beautiful, down to earth people you'll ever meet. It is like they brought the best of Thailand ... read more
Go West Young Man – One of the best Thai restaurants in Los Angeles. I sill love the larb at Sapp and the porriage at Ruen Pair, but everything about this restaurant appeals to my eastcoast restaurant memories. I moved to Silver Lake to escape Brentwood. UGH! Try Rambutan Thai on Sunset Blvd / Silver Lake Blvd. It's in a minimall, but don't let that fool you. The fare here is top notch. Great for sporting events. GO PISTONS!!!!
Great Time – Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in a long time. The Curry Dumpling, Siam Pork Chop, Thai Beef Jerky...can't write anymore, I'm starving!!!
SOUP – I read the Citysearch "Best Of" in the soup catagory. I love Tom Kha Gai and Rambutan was rated high. For good reason! Can a soup melt in your mouth? Steven Wright asked the question "If I melt dry ice can I swim without getting wet"? I know it's not the same thing, just funny. Rambutan & Sister restaurant tuk-tuk on Pico make amazing food. And yes, soup can melt in your mouth. Don't question me!
Rambutan Thai has a 3.9 star rating with 122 reviews.
Rambutan Thai is closed now. It will open at 6:00 p.m.
