Excellent - Everything you can ask for in a restaurant – Yeah, the place is kind of hard to find, and parking's tough, AND it's in a strip-mall, but that's about the only bad things you can say about this ABSOLUTE GEM. The interior of this place is so elegantly and simply decorated, my gf and I both felt immediately at ease after a tough week. the service was very adequate (but not overly impressive) but the FOOD. WAS. INCREDIBLE. very unique, flavorful, and so affordable! two entrees and a martini added up to like 30 bucks.... read more

More Bark Than Bite – I've spent about 6 months traveling Thailand from Chiang Mai to Krabi. So my opinion might be somewhat valid. I also took one of those Two week cooking courses in Chiang Mai. Just to give you a brief background on my qualifications. I ordered the Curry Duck, Curry Dumpling and Pad Thai. All were fine, however I was a little disappointed with the Pad Thai. Being the most popular dish in Thailand I was expecting something quite special from the reviews I read. However I found it rather bland and what it l... read more

So, so. Not so authentic, but nice decor – Read the review and went there for a try. I like the interior, but the food was just average. The atmosphere was so serious that it was not that fun. Sorry i have to say it's just an average rating.

Too spicy and not ecclectic – we went last friday night with my wife. We had tried saladang so many times in pasadena and had good expectationsbecause of the good reviews . We were given a table rather quickly ( on a busy Friday 20 minutes wait is not bad). The waitress dressed in hot pants was not smiling at all. as a matter of fact, nobody was smiling in this place. But who cares ;we were here for the food . We ordered a Tom yum soup that came in a large bowl. It was loaded with shrimps and a few mushrooms but no other vege... read more

You'd be surprised by the way it looks outside! – So the parking and area are a bit shady, but when you walk in it's a totally different world. The food was excellent. I tried a little of everything that my friends ordered as. Make sure you get the garlic rice. It's much better than the brown rice that was a little overcooked. Surprisingly, their wine list isn't too bad either for a Thai restaurant. The service could use a little tuning up though but I'd still recommend it.

Unauthentic food that's priced higher than its worth – I was really sad to discover that Rambutan just isn't very good. Don't get me wrong, the ambience is beautiful. The drinks were great too. But it was just too pricey, and not very authentic. The meat in my curry was really tough and over cooked, and the pad thai was mushy and not very flavourful. I understand why people like this place, it's super trendy. But if you're looking for real quality thai food that tastes amazing then head over to Sananluang Cafe. Which is a bi... read more

It's the ingredients – I've eaten at a hundred Thai restaurants over the years (at least), but this one really stands out from the crowd. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes were light and elegantly prepared. Our party of five ordered family style, and shared crab fried rice (the best fried rice I've ever had), a squid curry (wonderful), a fried tofu dish (savory), a fried catfish fillet served on a bed of shredded green apples (incredible) and the signature Thai green papaya salad (expertly rendered). Even the dessert... read more

Judge for yourself. – Although I do agree with some of these reviews, it is probably what you make of it. I have been here twice and yes their service is slow. The last time I came here I had made a reservation for 10, but when we arrive a little before our reservation time, our table was not ready. So we went into the lounge next door which is really cute. Believe it or not we were not seated until 1 hour after our reservations, but nobody in our party really minded or notice and I think that is because we had thrown back a... read more
