I had a very frustrating experience with their taxes and fees. Apparently these are not associated with the room cost and they must bury some charges inside of them keeping room rates cheaper. I booked a 5 day stay at a hotel last night with taxes and fees being $208.45. If I do the same search today, for the exact same criteria and hotel, the taxes and fees would be $159.35 with the room rate being the same. That is a 1/3 price difference. I've currently used their new price breaker special where you are guaranteed to stay with at least one of the hotels listed.. i picked 4 stars and in a certain area. Not only did i not get one of the listed hotels it wasn't in the area i chose but it was also a 2 star rating.. When i called immediately after seeing the address they informed me there was nothing they can do. i talked to three inadequate individuals. I paid Priceline in advance for car rental reservation and received confirmation though the via email that the reservation was confirmed. On December 19th when I arrived at ********* ************* *******the car rental company did not have my reservation from Priceline. I called Priceline and they apologized and said they would refund for the amount paid in advance for the car rental. Priceline is the worst!!!! I just booked a room yesterday Feb.7th for just one night. When me and my husband get there the lady at the front desk tells me they don't have my name. Now mind you I have my email with the confirmation number and iternary number on it, and she still couldn't find my name. But she did find another person's name with my room!!!! I was trying to book a flight on Priceline.com. After taking me through the entire process, I received a message that my flight was sold out. "Click here to select a different flight." I tried 3 different flights and they were all "sold out". Yet Priceline still charged my card over $900 for each of the unavailable flights, which maxed it out. I booked an airline trip through Priceline, five to seven days after the flight was booked and 1100 and some odd dollars later I get a email stating that they have changed my flight time. I was going on a cruise and the time they changed it to was more than 2 hours would not be able to make my cruise on time. Just go directly through the hotel.. these people do not value their customers or their own reputation. I tried to book an hotel... they placed me in a MOTEL and refused to cancel the reservation. I’ve been a loyal customer with them for years but vow to never use their service again and to post a review on every review site to detour any other customer from using them.
Priceline promises a higher star rating than they actually assign. For example their website allows “express bookings” where you select the star amount of the hotel wanted. The promise a minimum of that star or higher. Upon booking they gave a hotel of a lesser star at the higher price. They refused to aknowlege what they had done and refused to assign a hotel at the promised star level. I will never use their company again and will warn everyone of their scam.
I cannot reach anyone on the phone, I cancelled n reservation and was told it would take 1 business day to refund via chat online and a few days later, no refund. I tried calling again, no live agent could be reached so I chatted with them online again only to be told again 1 business day I'll see a refund...and then tree agent ended the call. I have screenshots of the convos..do NOT USE PRICELINE THEY HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and I have NO REFUND STILL!
