Great Fried Chicken – My first time at Ms. Tootsies....not so bad!!! I originally wanted to order the Fried Whiting, but they were out, so I chose the Talapia....which had no taste!!! Wonderfully tasty food..^_^.. – Hi. I finally had the pleasure of ordering from the famous Ms.Tootsie's Soul Food Restaurant. I live in DE but work in PHL. The food looked and tasted fabulous. My concern is the space, the wait and where you must wait. I placed my food order at work. So right after work I went straight to Ms. Tootsie's to pick up my food. BEST SOULFOOD IN THE WORLD – Ms. tootsie's is the spot. They have the best soul food i have ever had. I had the catfish which was to die for, and the macaroni and cheese, which would melt in your mouth and collard greens, which would make you want to hurt somebody. The cornbread is also amazing. and they give you like a water bottle but it has ms.tootsie's name on it and they have the best tea ever. It is sweet and just to die for. I want to go all the time.
Still The Best! – Just came from Ms. T's RBL and ? no doubt ? still the best in the city! Chicken here is still my favorite. Small plate make sharing fun. And the parties they throw here are off the hook. Can't wait until next Party of the Year Nov. 3.

Not recommended, if you've tasted great soul food, you'll be disappointed – My husband and I live in Kansas City, MO and were in Philadelphia for vacation. We are always looking for a great soulfood restaurant and found Ms. Tootsie's and after seeing all the great reviews decided to try it. Boy were we disappointed! Very warm atmosphere....I'm hooked!!! – Having moved to the city a few weeks ago one the first things that I did was seek out some authentic down south cooking to remind me of home and ease my transition from rural Georigia to Philly. Well I found it! At Ms. Tootsie's Soul Food Cafe on South Street. Great Soul Food – This is a great restaurant if you are trying to impress your mate, friends, or family members. My friend and I drove from Maryland on two different occassion just to eat at Ms. Tootsie's. It is hard to find a good soul food restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland.
