Loves It!!!!!! – Say what? Ms. Tootsies is delicious, and one of the best soul food joints I've been to. Very nice atmostphere and of course people. I would defintely recommend this spot to others. I'm from Philly but currently live in Maryland. But whenever I'm home I bring my friends (from diffrent geographic locations) and this is one spot I always check out and they all love it. I havent found anything like it in DC yet? Try it, you wont be disappointed. Kevin Parker is doing a great job, Kudos!!!!!
Somewhat overrated – Visited last night. I had high hopes for this place, and it turned out to be only a little above average in some areas, and disappointing in others. I will say that the fried chicken, the mac and cheese, and the blackeyed peas were quite good. It wasn't the absolute best fried chicken I have ever had, but it was very good. Fantastic food, really poor service – Have been meaning to go here for ages. Went on a Thursday night, around 8:30pm, which I guess is a slow night for them. Were maybe 4 other tables occupied in the restaurant. We had to wait a REALLY long time to place our order, get our drinks, get our salad, get our entrees, get our check... it was painful. Good all around food – I don't know why anyone would give a bad review to such a place, because the wait time is that of Red Lobster and Olive Garden and any other restaurant that you go to. But the only difference is that they give you a lovely lounge to sit in and drink until your table is ready. If you love SOUL FOOD, and you happen to be in Philly, check out MS. TOOTIES. one of the best or possible the best in Philly.
Avoid Sunday nights – Ms. Tootsies has great food and atmosphere provided you come at the right time. My boyfriend, his mother and I arrived at the location last Sunday night. Stood there and waited for service, and waited and waited only to find out the host was standing right next to us in full conversation with some girls at a table, an arms length away. BEST SOUL FOOD! I love Ms. Tootsie's food! They have some of the best mac and cheese I have ever taste before. The chicken was grate! What I love the most is the ice tea! At Ms. Tootsie's they put a slice of watermelon inside the ice tea. That give the ice tea a taste i have never taste before! Me and my girlfriends had such a grate time there! I recommend everyone go to Ms. Tootsie's! You will have a good time and you will love the food!
World Class Food And World Class Service Talk about the nicest people. You thought people in Disney World and Vegas were nice, well then You'll love Ms. Tootsie's. The service there is on the ball. You will never get angry at the waiters and waitresses because there will be nothing to get mad at them about. They deliver a great service, on time and always with a smile. BEST SOUL FOOD! – I was so Hungry one night. Me and my sister went to ms. Tootsie's. the food was the best. The ice tea was something to die for. They put watermelon inside it! That give it a taste i have never taste before! The chicken was so tender and good! The mac and Cheese was better then the way my mom make it. And when i was younger it was the best to me. ms.Tootsie's is highly recommended to any and every one. I say go every time your hungry!
Customer Service is the Greatest – Let me first say that when I walked into the door I was greeted by someone. Everyone there was so nice and the food was soo tasty. They were prompt when they brought my food, and when I put that first spoonful of mac and cheese I felt like I was in heaven. And don't get me started on their iced tea. It brought me back to when I was a little girl drinking iced tea in church whenever they had a special service. Overall I had a great experience and recommend this place to all.
