Too small and out of too many items on the menu – I recently went to Ms. Tootsies with 2 friends of mine. We heard good things about the restaurant but our experience wasn't a good one. First of all, it was really small so the tables were really close together. If you're claustrophobic, you don't want to go there. Do not give this establishment your business until they prove they can give consistently good service. – We were a party of 5 visiting the restaurant from Maryland more than a 2 hr drive. All but 1 of us had eaten at Ms Tootsie more than once. We had bragged about the cuisine and were excited for her to try it. Found parking ok. Pure Luck. 15 mins wait time. Soul Food Heaven – OMG where to begin. The food was to die for chicken seasoned and fried to perfection, mac and cheese like no other so cheesy and good, and the greens um um the greens. Ms. Tootsie's has my grandma's cooking beat by far. I definitely recommend this place if your looking for great soul food and good service.
Not your typical bar food – Ms. Tootsie's RBL is the spot! The food is scrumptious, the bartenders are friendly, and the place is so so chic! Go there to see and be seen.
Very good soulfood – I won't say Ms. Tootsie's has the best soul food because nothing compares to home cooking. However, if you're in the mood for really good soul food that will leave you feeling stuffed, Ms. Tootsie's is the place to be. They have great sweet tea (iced tea) that they serve with a watermelon on it. I warn you, do not drink too much of this tea. Worth the wait – RU sure you weren't at RBL? Ms. Tootie's cafe is excellent, but small. Tables are packed in tight, but i likeit. U can check out what the next table ordered to see if u want it. Catfish was great, not greasy & super cheesy mac n' cheese was flat-out amazing. Bring dessert home, u won't be able to finish it there. Just go and try it out 4 urself.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE – Ms. Tootsie's put us out on Friday night! Two very good friends of mine reserved Ms. Tootsie's this past Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) to have a joint birthday party. They had invited about 200 people through E-vite two weeks prior after it was confirmed, knowing that many friends and family would be in town for the holiday. BEst soul food--perfect for cold weather – Went for dinner and had to wait a half hour to eat. Went next door for a drink so it was no big deal. Smothered turkey chops and collards, mmmmmmmmmmm. Sweet tea is great and it comes in Ms. Tootsie bottle, but don't forget the lemon pound cake. Waitstaff was friendly, space a little tight.Was crazy busy, but worth the wait. You won't be sorry you did.
Sinful Soul – Keepin it simple: fantastic soul food in deluxe atmosphere. Fried chicken is the best hands down, mac & cheese is decadent and pound cake is sinful. Go. You won't regret it.
