As a 13 year DRI owner, I've been mostly happy with with my DRI ownership points package. However, Diamond has reached a new low for owners in my eyes and I'm very disappointed. The last 2 times I've tried to use my OWNERSHIP points to book a resort, Diamond's website listed the property as having no availability. They lie consistently to your face during presentation, you cannot get away from sales people, an owners update is not an update at all just another sales mod to sell you more points. Our maintenance fees have risen so high, we can no longer afford, all other fees like upgrade room went from $75. To $150. This year takes more points to book a room. I wish I could give a negative star rating. I have never been so disappointed by a company I have done business with. Here is my story. When my wife lost her job about 3 1/2 years ago, I lost about 2/3 of my income. We contacted everyone we could about working with us so we wouldn't lose our home, and many other companies offered help, many others except DRI. No words to describe the lack of concern and customer service with this company. My wife and I have been owners for years and recently attended a presentation in Mexico where the sales person Michael told both of us that our maintenance fees would be reduced permanently if we bought a sampler plan. He flashed a piece of paper showing a lower maintenance fee, but we just got our statement on 12/1 and our maintenance fees were not lowered. My girlfriend and I went into this obviously because the award was worth the time. 3 hours in and I wasn't hooked. They had my girlfriend at about 80%. All of a sudden, I become the bad guy because I don't want to take my girl on yearly vacations. They tried to press that on me. After asking a round of personal questions after I said no, I wasn't interested, the salespeople left the room, walked down the hall and then proceeded to badmouth me on how I lied to them (which I didn't!), their exact words: "she's such a liar!" I purchased a timeshare in February of 2001. We paid it out in July of 2009. My husband died in February of 2011, since then Diamond has tried to get me to purchase into the point system. I told them over and over no, that I couldn't afford it. They let me purchased a sample. When that was over, they talked so fast and lied over and over again and told me that if i didn't buy the points, they will take my home and that I will have to pay a lot of money and etc. of course forcing me to buy into the point system!!!
