I have tried to book to use my vacation package that I paid 149.00 after sitting through a few hour presentation that was only suppose to be an hour or so to be told that those dates were not available and I needed to book 6 months in advance. I had brought the ticket from diamond resort at the event for $200. I was promised I would get the gift card and cruise when I book the reservation. I followed rules per the policy and booked the reservation for my wife , baby and Myself. When I went for the tour in Vegas , i was not allowed to attend the tour and I have been told because I have baby, I can not attend the tour. I think DRI is as crooked as a question mark!!!!!! In November I decided to pay off the loan, in 2 payments so I sent in a large payment. Instead of applying the excess payment ($330.) to the principle of the loan, they made another payment for the following month first then applied the balance which was only about $160 to the principal. I contacted them 3 or 4 times about it then finally they corrected it. In December I looked at the page and paid exactly what they said was the payoff for that day to an agent. We recently bought a points package. When we were in the presentation for over the 2hrs, we decided we were not going to buy. Then they talked us into it at about the 3hr mark. We were told we would get enough points for a 14 day vacation. When all of our information arrived in the mail, it now shows a points balance of 5000, which is barely enough for 1 week. We recently made the biggest mistake and purchased a Sampler with Diamond Resorts International while on vacation in Sedona, Az. We are not new to Timeshares, and sales presentations, as we have been owners since 2007 with another company. I have the Sampler Package from Diamond Resorts International, and it has been the WORST. We were not informed when we purchased the package that we would need to sit through an HOUR plus presentation EACH and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. we visited. So when we wanted to island hop in Hawaii and stay four nights on one island and four nights on another, we had to book a presentation at each. Diamond Resorts is a SCAM SCAM. Please don't fall into this trap of big empty promises. We are not stupid people but they got us. Our advice, while you vacation never go to this meeting. They will get you and I promise you will regret it. I want to spread the word as much as I can. I received no empathy or understanding from Customer service. I was told I was told I was confused twice. i found that very insulting. I had explained that the sales person misrepresented the agreement I was about to sign. I was led to believe that I was being given an additional 15,000 points. in addition to the 14,500 points my week represented. I even asked if I could use the points to pay the Maintenance Fee. Became a timeshare owner years ago, originally with Sunterra, then Diamond bought them out. All was smooth sailing for several years, but once Steven Cloobeck sold Diamond to Apollo, it had been downhill.
