After much research, we finally settled on Dr. Hickman for two knee replacements. As some say, he can be a bit rushed, but we found that when he had time, he would stop and talk, especially if you had concerns that might be related to the surgery/replacement. Talking to other people who have had knees replaced in the past two years, I feel that the expertise and follow-on care suggestions were what it took to get my wife walking in less than three months after the last knee was done. After reading some of these reviews I wonder if it is the same Dr. Hickman. We had a great experience with him, two knees in 6 weeks (his recommendation). Wife is walking with no pain and 3 months after the surgery, she was able to board a cruise ship without needing a wheel chair. 18 months later, thigs are still great. He was a bit brief post surgery, but I understand he was rushed that day. At all the follow up appointments he was more relaxed and talkative, even on other subjects.

I'm 64 and have had both knees replaced by Dr. Hickman. I couldn't be happier. He's given me back quality of life for my upcoming retirement years. I exercise the way I want to, golf, and am hitting the slopes again like I was a kid (OK - I don't do mogul busting like I used to but am still having a blast).

My experience with Dr. Hickman was outstanding! After one week no pain medicine needed. I feel great and am not limping. Two weeks and walking at a regular pace. Office assistant and his PA were optimistic and very knowledgeable. Thanks Dr. Hickman for making me well.

I had a double knee replacement. Definitely not an easy operation to have! But Dr. Hickman is so knowledgeable and confident. everything he told me would happen, happened. He would set my mind at ease but at the same time, he wouldn't sugar coat things. All his staff were amazing and if I needed something, they were there for me. My experience was great for something so hard and invasive, I'm very glad I had the surgeries. I would recommend Dr Hickman and staff all day long.

Excellent surgeon, but not careful enough. Missed a staph infection on first look, also missed another infection, said it was fine from an X-ray and then patient ended up with major surgery from another physician who was more careful. This may not find itself onto the review page, however, if screened unfortunately!
