Todays visit was a follow up of hip replacement surgery in Sept 2021.
After 25 days played 9 holes of golf. Walking after two weeks without any support. Getting back to my normal schedule without pain. Will be getting my other knee replaced soon and will definitely be going back to Dr. Hickman.
I have had both hips replaced by Dr. Hickman and each time was done with the highest professionalism, the highest care and quality.
Dr Hickman is the best! My name is Mike Anderson, I’m 64 years old and in average health. Dr. Hickman has done knee replacement surgery on both of my knees and I am very pleased. My surgeries both went very well
The Receptionist started the appointment with a greeting and a smile. I had a short wait for my appointment. After I was placed in a room the PA came and ask how I was and how my knee was doing and then looked at my knee and informed me the doctor would be in. Dr. Hickman came in shortly after that ask how I was then ask how my knee was doing. He checked my knee and told me it was doing very well for only 5 months. Said he would see me in a year and if I had any problems to be sure and call.
Dr. Hickman has replaced both of my knees over a thirteen year period. He has provided me with a a pain free step which I feel is a priceless gift. The recovery process is difficult however, the time to recover between the first replacement and the last has been decreased substantially. Mountain Orthopedic is a finely tuned orthopedic corporation. If it were mine, I would run it in the same way. Some may view this in a negative light. They were 45 min late taking me back. The service was terrible, neither Dr. Hickman nor his NP were helpful or interested in what was wrong with my hip. He was with me less than 5 minutes, did not ask questions about my symptoms or how it was impacting my functionality or daily tasks. He was rude, flippant, and cold, so was his NP. I wouldn’t refer my worst enemy to this doctor. I was in tears before I left because of pain and feeling helpless by his lack of compassion and desire to help.
I have just finished my second tka from dr, Hickman and would highly recommend his methodology...I’m 3 weeks out, climbing & descending stairs with only slight hesitation and able to do everything as before with minimal effort...the key is that with less trauma from the onset you do not get to the level of frustration and depression that impedes the healing/ rehab process.
