I have recommended Dr. Hickman to several friends, some of which have traveled from out of state to be treated by him. I had a total knee replacement nearly three years ago and it went perfectly, he is an amazing surgeon. His office staff is friendly, responsive and put up with me calling every other day with whatever concern I had. :) As for bedside manner, he's a surgeon not a GP. I never expected him to coddle me afterwards, the hosp staff & his PA's were amazing when it came to aftercare.
Dr. Hickman has done 2 hip replacements on me and I think he's fabulous. Personally I think his bedside manner is great. He has called to check on me at my home as well as answering calls from me regarding surgery procedures, late on a Sunday evening. He is skilled and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
No doubt a talented surgeon but the other reviews are right. Not as talented when it comes to bedside manner. He can be charming for a minute but then your time is up and he can be very short and condescending if you question him or take any more time than he deems you worthy of. Still, his work is excellent so if you can be patient with his poor social skills, he's a good choice
I would never recommend Dr. Hickman to anyone. He has poor bedside manners. In surgery he has 4 surgery rooms he is doing surgery on patients and one Dr. He doesn't care about you as a patient nor does he follow up to see how you are. The most condescending Dr I have ever met.
No bed side manor had to have a revision with a different doctor due to his poor judgment and unwillingness to listen we are not numbers his pa was awesome though
No bedside manner, could not have cared less about my condition, spent about 3 minutes with me after a long waiting period. Stood outside of the exam room door and talked about upcoming golf event for an extensive period of time. I would not take my dog to see Dr. Hickman!

Dr. Hickman was absolutely fantastic!!! He walked me through the whole procedure and the outcome was exactly as he said it would be, but I had to follow his guidance of course. My new knee is wonderful and I'm able to be active and participate with family and vacations. I would highly recommend him!! He is the best!
Three years ago I had my left knee replaced best thing I have done in years for myself. I spent the previous 6 years and 4 laprscpoic messing with my left knee. It was a waste of time first time I saw Dr. Hickman he did not mess around scheduled me right away. I just had my right knee replaced on May 3rd 2016 three weeks ago. my pain level is very manageable with minimal pain killers at this time. Thrilled to death to be totally pain free very soon.
