Was enjoying Griddy from April through June, but it cost me so much during July and August. Thanks to no price protection with Griddy, my bill for August was averaging $0.37/kWh and probably going to end up being over $1,000 had I not stopped the bleeding by just switching to a fixed rate provider. As other reviewers have said, Griddy will cost you incredible amounts of money during the summer unless you could just turn your whole house off during the day and then run everything at night. Horrible Horrible Horrible!!!! You should be ashamed of what you are doing to customers. This is criminal and should be brought to the attention of every governing agency of electrical service providers. How does the State of Texas let you get away with this? Customer need to unite for Class Action Law Suit. I have been charged $1200 for 16 days. The nerve to ask customers to leave their homes during the day. TXU and others would never make a crazy statement like that. I want to see the CEO's bill posted.
Below is my bill midway through August for a house that is 1100sf. It's at $410. This is ridiculous. I knew that a variable rate would be risky, but this is beyond. This company is going under and you should not sign up for their services.

Please stop charging my credit card! I’m no longer a customer and my service has already been transferred! Griddy is the absolute worst electric company I’ve ever dealt with and their customer service is nonexistent. Griddy over promises and under delivers.
We moved to Griddy in July and our all in rate was 8.7¢. However in August our all in rate jumped to 22.9¢ per kilowatt. We were charged $83 for one day on Aug 15th even though we had our AC turned way up and off for most of the day. Our bill is currently at $359 MTD and the month is barely 1/2 over. On Monday, we will switch back to our old provider Champion Energy at 10.6¢ all in rate. Maybe you could save during the rest of the year, but this is too volatile and unpredictable. Been getting crazy high bills this month! Rates as crazy as +$4/kwh which is INSANE. Wiped out all the so-called savings so I'd totally stay away from Griddy during the summer months.
They should be in jail for stealing peoples money. No excuse!
