DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! I only rented from these guys because of the hourly rate anyways I rented from them and had the worst experience in my life from being locked out of the car and the middle of the desert to them overcharging me and locking me out prior to me getting it back to the owner this is the worst experience I've ever had in my life bad customer service do not rent from these guys you're will regret it

Oh my god, I should have read these reviews prior to hosting with Getaround. Anything you can think of has just about happened to my car and I am yet encountering problems with this company. From being charger $100 to make a damage claim to not pay tolls as agreed. Their efforts to resolve issues is baffling, how are they able to execute bussiness in a proficient manner? Making a complaint toTX state *********************** is my next step.

I was moving and opted to cancel my uhaul and used get around. There was a pickup truck I reserved and was going to use to move a couch. I had a reservation from 7:30 pm -12:45 am. Upon arrival the instructions from the host said to call him on arrival (odd). As I was trying to call him and doing my walk around inspection he calls me drunk and threatening. I walked around for 30 minutes trying to find the car I rented to only be put on hold by customer service. I discovered ********************** was telling me the license plate was different on the app than the actual car. So I wasted my time walking around finding a car that would not match anyways. **************** will not respond to me or move me on to a manager to speak to. These guys dont deserve a single good review. They stole $500 from me after I contacted them about a car that was a piece of c*** There was no gas in the car, all the lights were on & the touch screen didnt work so no radio. These people are telling me that I have to spend more money in order to get a replacement car. While my $500 just went missing, they wont refund it. I reserved a car, received a call less than an hour before starting my rental that the vehicle had mechanical issues. The only other car that was available was over $100 difference. I needed the car to get to work for a few days, so of course Im very nervous because this inconvenience is already had me late for work on top of a coworker that I was supposed to pick up. This company charges exorbitant fees for gas (they charged me $14 for 1 gallon) They charge you EXTRA fee on top of the toll charges. They also charge ridiculous "improper return" fees - $50 for being a few minutes late, $50 for parking .15 miles away from the street parking return location even though there was no other parking available. I truly despise this company and will not use their services again.

There were $470 in fraudulent charges on my card for late fees. How can I be late if YOUR roadside was contacted 2 hours before the trip ended? The trip ended at 9:15am and roadside didnt come until after 1pm. But I was charged late fees. Now Im getting the run around about being refunded. I had to contact my bank for help. I do not recommend them.

2 out of the times I was over charged for fuel even tho I filled the gas tank to full after my trip. Both times I contacted getaround support, which is only through messaging you cant call anytime after the rental is over, they give me the runaround asking for fuel recipes with very specific information. There is nothing in the rental agreement about this all they tell you is to fill the tank and as a photo of the fuel gauge.
