I began sharing my vehicle on Getaround in November 2019, and after 10 months of using the service (with only minor customer-related incidents, mostly resolved), the vehicle was stolen outside of a customer trip. The vehicle was parked on a neighborhood street for customer access, and did not display a Getaround sticker. This business is an absolute **** and I wish I read the reviews that mirror my experience before I gave them a try. I rented a getaround car for about 2 1/2 hours in May 2020. I was in the car the ENTIRE time. I did not hit anything and was not hit by anything. I received a random email from getaround on July 30, 2020 (2 MONTHS after the rental) stating that there was damage to the car that reportedly happened during the time that I had it and that I was going to be charged $250 for it to be fixed. Getaround is extremely bad and a **** company. I rented a 2010 car and got a flat while driving on the freeway with my kids in the car. I was able to safely park the car within a few minutes because the flat happened close to the freeway off-ramp...and the parking space was also located within the return circle area. I notified Getaround immediately via email since there is no way to contact them by phone. I rented a truck on getaround three times without incident and two weeks after the second rental was accused of destroying a tire during my trip. For this I was charged $350 plus $200 for not reporting the damage (that I did not cause).The evidence provided by the owner was a photo of a dent on the side of the truck. This company is going to run itself into the ground if it doesn't take accountability for the huge danger it put myself and clearly other customers into. I was given a rental car that was completely unfit to be driven. Within the first hour of driving my car the brakes and accelerator STOPPED WORKING. Hi, I would like to report an issue that I recently had with this online car sharing company called Get Around.They are unreliable, never again! they did not respect the agreement that we had after they rented me an UNSAFE CAR, PUTTING ME IN DANGER ! This is the worst company to do business with. The claims department is a big fraud. It is easy to take their cut from every rental, then when your car is involved in an accident, you will be shocked to see how the company will act like a ghost. Nobody will ever contact from claims department. You will call the customer care, they will transfer you to endless waiting, then till it enters voicemail. I received an email In April regarding a claim for an incident that happened in January. And then my account was suspended for non payment for the claim. Not only did I not cause any of the damage but how are you going to accuse someone with no proof 3 months after driving the vehicle, when who knows how many other drivers have driven the car since then. This company is complete crap!
