The ************* Ever, they will wait weeks after your rental to charge you for a ridiculous amount even though the car has been rented out after you.
I am not a renter on Getaround (GA), I was a host. The car I put on the platform was a brand new 2022 mid-size SUV that was TOTALED during the first trip on GA. Every interaction I have had with the company since then to resolve the issue has been nothing but stress. Ive been going in circles and not getting any answers whatsoever. Getaround are a bunch of thieves. I rented a car and added 15 minutes to refuel. Fuel was added and the car was parked at 8:18PM because I needed to park the car. They are now charging me $67.00 ($50.00 late fee and a $17.00 gas refuel fee). They will scam you out of your money. Stay away!!!
A shame!I rented a car in ******. The car was old, dirty dangerous, but above all the owner was a lier and at the end i ended up being charged more than a 100 for false remarks.I contacted the customer service they never answered and Cancelled my review on their website!This company is a shame to any profesional businesses on the web.
basically a legalized theft ring built to steal the money of renters. the cars never have full tanks yet they force you to fill the tank after. if you can't for whatever reason they charge you 5x the normal average rate even though they reimburse you 1/2 the avg rate if you do fill it for the tank. my rental went from $30 to $150 for maximum 5 gallons used. no help. automated scripts. terrible support. worthless. garbage
Getaround should not be a place for scammers to charge people for smoking fees without any proof .I think this is so weird and without any proof.I havent smoked 1 cigarrete in my whole life and I got $200 taken out of my account . After using a Getaround car for 3 hours to a state park nearby with my wife. Two weeks later Im being accused and charged $200 for a smoking fee.Even though this same car has probably been rented more than a few times after me . This is totally false accusations.
I rented a car to drive to my grandmothers funeral 5 hours away. I was late getting on the road due to the fact the car was not in the place specified. Upon finally finding the car the trunk would not open. Inside the car there was scattered trash and a bad smell. The front windshield had a 3 inch crack. I decide, fine Ill drive this gross hunk of junk because rebooking, bringing my things to another location will make me EVEN later for my grams funeral. I have rented from GetAround for years now that I no longer own a car - mostly for a 3-6 hour period to run errands. My last car pickup was already frustrating because I could not locate the car. After contacting GetAround customer service, they stayed on the phone with me until I located the car - several blocks away from where the app indicated it was parked. This company needs to be shut down. Rented with them multiple times with Uber. Had a bad experience nesrly ever time. The vehicles are consistently left filthy and unsafe to drive. Cars rarely had a full tank of gas. You have to complain to reimbursed for gas. If you leave the vehicle without a full tank they charge you $10 per gallon.
