2/28/2019 I had a state of the art Infinity Prophecy ankle replacement 3 yrs ago and it was like getting a whole new foot. I had crushed severed and reattached my right foot in a motorcycle wreck 25 yrs ago and was in pain all day every day and with every step. I now have days of no pain at all and the worst it can get after a long day is 4/10 when it was on average 8/10 all day every day. Highly recommend his and Duke services top notch from top to bottom employees. FYI I am an LPTA lic. 23yrs.
Three months ago Dr. DeOrio performed a Total Ankle Replacement on my left ankle. I am now walking well. I have no ankle pain. This entire process has been flawless; the care I have received has been professional and solicitous. In my opinion, Dr. DeOrio has provided outstanding surgical results for me due to his expertise in his field. Over five years ago a doctor in Atlanta told me that the best surgeon east of the Mississippi for my ankle issue was Dr. DeOrio. That was the best advice!
I had heavy broken my left ankle in sky resort. Dr. DeOrio completely recovered my ankle and kept me for sport activity. Dr. DeOrio is the best orthopedic surgeon in Raleigh - Durham area. His knowledge and experience is amazing. Thank you.
Dr. DeOrio Changed my life in a way you could not imagine. My ankle was on a 37 degree ankle and over 15 years continued to become more painful. January he replaced my ankle and everything he told me should take place has. What a. Great way to live being able to walk for 2 to 4mnilkes with no sign of pain. Dr.DeOrio is one of those doctors that care about you and gives you the confidence that the office staff are real professionals.
I searched internet for doctors who had performed TAR, and came up with the doctors from Duke as my most likely candidates. Then I had to narrow search down to which doctor I would choose for surgery. I felt a connection with Dr. DeOrio and I could not be more pleased with the results. Finally I am able to walk without pain and without limping. I am eternally grateful that I found Dr. DeOrio
As an active senior who enjoys tennis at a competitive level as well as golf, hiking and cycling, I was faced with losing all of that due to a severely arthritic right ankle. Dr. DeOrio performed ankle replacement surgery as well as significant ligament reconstruction and saved my life style. The surgery went perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He is not only an outstanding surgeon but also genuinely cares for his patients. I would highly recommend Dr. James DeOrio.
Dr DeOrio performed a Total Talus Replacement on my left ankle in September, 2018. I have to admit I was scared and my expectations were low as I had been dealing with debilitating ankle pain for years and was skeptical that anything would help. My podiatrist, Richard Johnson of St. Augustine, Fl, referred me. He told me "he isn't fond of podiatrists, but he is the best", so I went. To say that my surgery exceeded my expectations would be a gross understatement! My ankle is now 100% pain free!
After 10 years of foot pain and visits to doctors, neurologists, podiatrists and pain management, we finally found Dr DiOrio. Today was my first visit with Dr DiOrio and I am so glad that I found him. He is the only doctor I have seen who seemed to know what my problem is. I am scheduled for surgery for a plantar plate tear in both feet. I'll be back to let you know how it goes! I feel better just having seen such a knowledgeable, experienced doctor. I finally have hope.
My ankle story began in '74 with a severe sprain that I neglected to properly address. The result was more sprains, destroyed joint and 10 yrs of 24/7 x 365 pain. At the end the joint wear plus the osteoarthritis was so severe I was confined to a walker. For years we had been waiting on technology and a surgeon to trust. In Nov, 2017 we contacted Dr. DeOrio's office, made an appmt and traveled to Durham from MS. Surgery was done Dec 29, 2017. Now I do anything I need or want to do with NO PAIN!
