I can not say enough about my terrific experience with Dr. DeOrio. He was calm, and calmed me down about the total ankle joint replacement that I needed. I had been referred to him by my original surgeon. He explained the entire procedure clearly, gave me all the info regarding recovery, and kept reassuring me that this would be successful. I’m so glad I trusted Dr DeOrio with my 32 year old injury. He did a total ankle replacement on me three months ago and, so far, the healing process has gone rather well. I have less pain than I did prior to the surgery and I’ve been able to keep close to the range of motion I had.

My right ankle was causing me so much pain, couldn't walk on it and was taking to many NSAID's trying to control the pain. I was referred to Dr. DeOrio from another orthopedic surgeon to take care of my injury. De. DeOrio did ankle joint replacement surgery and I couldn't be happier. In April 2019, Dr. DeOrio performed ankle replacement surgery on my left ankle. This was my 2 year checkup today, June 14, 2021. I have totally recovered with excellent mobility and flexibility. This was an extremely successful procedure performed by an outstanding surgeon who provided outstanding care, before, during and followups to the procedure. Dr. DeOrio is an absolute treasure for Duke. I would, and already have, recommended Dr. DeOrio for ankle problems. In my estimation, he is the best in his field!

I was a college basketball player in the 1960's and we trained in the summer playing on concrete courts. After finishing playing I became a jogger running 3-4 miles every day. Eventually I wore out the cartilage in both ankles. Thanks to Dr. DeOrio's ankle replacement surgeries, left ankle 2008, right 2015, I am an active 77 year old who can still exercise, help coach youth basketball, and in general enjoy life. These surgeries have enhanced my quality of life as well as my longevity. Thank you Dr. DeOrio.

Good day, Dr. DeOrio was recommended to me by my family practice physician. My right ankle had severe arthritis and was malformed due to wear and tear over the past 34 years subsequent to a sports injury which required ankle reconstruction. Dr. DeOrio assessed that an ankle replacement was the best option for me. The procedure was performed at Duke Hospital March of 2020. The procedure was successful. Dr. DeOrio performed an ankle replacement on my right ankle 3 years ago with a device that he helped to develop. I can only say that the result was excellent and I have been pain free since the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. DeOrio to anyone for their foot and ankle needs.

Dr. DeOrio performed successful ankle replacement surgery on my right ankle six months ago. My recovery from the surgery has been miraculous. My pain is gone and I have been able to resume my normal activities. Dr. DeOrio and his team have the procedure and follow up down to an art.
