I had both ankles replaced at the same time, a year ago, and it has been one of the best decisions I have made. My podiatrist in Atlanta sent me to Dr. DeOrio in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. DeOrio has allowed me to continue my lifestyle for the last 10 years. Ten years ago I was not able to walk through the grocery store with my wife without using an electric cart. Dr. DeOrio is a wonderful doctor who has had a profound impact on my life, not only once, but twice. I was in a car wreck in 1991 that crushed my left foot, leaving me handicapped and in constant pain. in 2016 I was experinsing severe pain in my ankel due to a motorcycle accident in 1989. Over the years it kept getting worse in pain and had sever artritis in it.I literly could barley walk. I finally reahed out and Dr.DeOrio peformed the operation and replaced the ankle. today at 78yrs old I can walk do all kinds of activity and I am completly pain free due to the expertice and the knowlege of Dr. DeOrio. thanks

I crushed both of my ankles when I was 17 years old. 40 years later I visited Dr. DeOrio at the recommendation of one his former patients. I had suffered for many years with pain, dreading putting my feet on the floor in the mornings, and crawling from room to room at night. I went years with severe left ankle pain. In the fall of 2015 it was so bad I could only stand 45 minutes before I had to sit down.I went to Dr De Orio & & besides the replacement,he did 3 or 4 other correctional procedures the same surgery. I have been pain free for over 2 years. Dr told me he does not know another doctor that could have done what he had did to repair my foot & ankle.

Two years ago Dr. Deorio performed a Total Right Ankle Replacement for me. I have some unusual orthopedic issues that I've had since birth, complicated by osteotomies done when I was 17. He was recommended to me as the best available and I am very pleased with the results. Not only is the pain completely alleviated but he continues to be very helpful and supportive during my follow-up visits.

My experience with Dr. Deorio and his staff was absolutely great from the beginning to the end. I can actually walk now since my surgery with no pain at all. Before my ankle replacement, I was in pain all the time, walked with a limp and would have to stop and rest between tasks even sitting on a riding mower caused me pain. Thank you so very much Dr. DeOrio. I would certainly have the surgery again it I had to do it all over again ... as long as you were the surgeon. Thank you again
