I am seven years out from a total ankle replacement and I just completed a review with Dr. DeOrio. He observed me walking, checked my range of motion, and reviewed x-rays with me. Our discussion covered all of my questions and gave me a clear sense of what to expect in the future, including options for contingencies. My review schedule is now every other year. I am quite pleased with the results of this experience.
Once again an appointment with Dr. DeOrio that went perfect. Questions were answered and I know what to expect for the next few months ~ Total Ankle Replacement has been my miracle.
Dr. DeOrio is an excellent surgeon. I had a very successful ankle replacement 8 years ago with annual follow up visits. I highly recommend him as an orthopedic surgeon.
My experience with Dr. DeOrio has been exceptional from my very first evaluation, through ankle replacement surgery and throughout the annual checkups. He has always provided the utmost care and consideration. Despite the long drive to Durham, it was worth every minute knowing I was under the care of the most qualified and experienced in the STAR replacement. Dr. DeOrio performed a complicated ankle revision for me 10 weeks ago; one that no doctor I saw in Florida was even willing to try. I am already walking and thanks to Dr. DeOrio I now have hope that I will walk pain free in the future. I would recommend anyone with ankle problems see him.

Dr. DeOrio did my second ankle replacement. After my first surgery 12 years ago, I told everyone to avoid this surgery at all cost. The pain I endured was indescribable. I was not able to put any weight on my foot for 4 months. After this surgery, the pain was well controlled, in fact, no pain...just a little discomfort. I am six weeks out and pretty much walking. Dr. DeOrio has explained everything along the way. I am amazed! Thank you Dr. DeOrio!
I was suffering from post traumatic arthritis. The pain was almost unbearable when I walked. It has been 6 months since I had my ankle replacement and now my pain is minimal. Dr. Deorio is a wonderful Doctor. His surgery helped me get back to work and live a normal life. I encourage anyone to have this surgery. God has given Dr. Deorio a special gift to help others in need.
