On April 18, 2024 Design Aire technician, ********************* came to us for a scheduled spring inspection and maintenance of our heating and cooling systems. A few days before that appointment we had heard a loud sound coming from the furnace unit, so we had shut it down, hoping that the technician could analyze the cause during his trip. Sad. Technician relied on my guess as to what part needed to be replaced on my heat pump and did no tests to confirm, just agreed with me. He didn't even remove the fan to look inside the unit clearly. Instead he used a pen light to view the inside of the unit. When I asked for a quote to have the part replaced, he made a huge deal about how difficult the part would be to replace, then called his supervisor for the quote, explaining to him how awful a job it would be to replace this part.
