My family has been using Central DuPage Hospital for many years. I want to single out the always caring and excellent nursing staff -- on the patient floors, in the ER, and in surgical recovery. I was just there last week for an outpatient procedure, and almost everyone on staff was wonderful -- from check-in to getting prepped to the nursing care. Sitting in the Peds ER for 3 hours now only to be told they close it at midnight. Yet they fail to tell the patient that is here! We have been waiting for ANYONE to show up and see my child. But how would they when the shut off the lights and just leave! And if they close the Peds ER at midnight why in hell take a pediatric patient there and basically leave them to their own devices! How do you recommend something that has terrible service in your ER? I went in with horrible facial pain . I waited 8 hours, yes you read that right. Eight hours for a CT scan. I was in so much pain , I could not leave.
My daughter has been on the pediatric floor going on 3 days now. I don’t have any complaints. The nurses (who we know really do all the work) are amazing. They’re patient and kind with my daughter and have a million different ideas and toys to help keep them occupied and as comfortable as possible.
