Just received a bill in the mail yesterday from a 3rd party Pediatrics company after the birth of our son at CDH (almost 5 months ago). Without a conversation with us or our consent, they outsourced the state-mandated auditory test for our newborn to this 3rd party group which operates within the walls of CDH. Been sitting in the ER for 6 hours in pain. My stomach is so swollen I look like I am about to give birth. In fact the first few hours they treated me like I was a crazy pregnant lady in denial. They finally did a pregnancy test that was negative and I am still in the waiting room. Haven’t even spoken to a doctor my stomach keeps swelling bigger and bigger. The vending machines don’t work so you can’t even get a drink it’s like being trapped in hell.
The hospital has gone way down hill since joining with northwestern. service is down, speed has slowed, and it seems like they stopped listening to the patient. They have there minds made up b4 they even see u
I had the priviledge yesterday of seeing a tremendous example of kindness and skill by CDH nurses, respiratory techs and other personnel dealing with an elderly patient. Their carefulness and patience was exemplary. Wonderful care!

This hospital has always had concerns ever since I was a child in the 70's and with their growth they have only gotten much worse. Now they are owned by Northwestern Medicine is strictly A FOR PROFIT facility. There is absolutely no compassion for the patient, a total lack of empathy an no focus on customer service.
