Great car selection, however i did not have a very pleasant experience after purchasing my vehicle. My *** had some minor issues i brought it in to be fixed 3 times with in a month of having it , I only drove the car maybe a week and a half out of 30 days because the service department would say they repaired my car and did not . It's been such a long time since I had a car note. I wanted to purchase from a reliable company and ultimately settled on Carmax (Whitemarsh location). That was my first mistake. As a newly divorced mother of two college students, I trusted Carmax to put me in a reliable vehicle. Less than three months later, my car was in the shop for several weeks. ************* Carmax location. Was accused of stealing a car on a test drive it was towed Family could not use the 24 hour Test Dr. that they advertise reason not given. The family is a previous customer with a previous purchase reported the issue corporate responded with no information other than, a verbal conversation would not back it ** in writing. We purchased a ******* Sonata plug in hybrid from Carmax on August 15. The car would not charge and a service visit was arranged to take the vehicle to a ******* dealership. On August 31 the car broke down and had to be towed back to Carmax. We returned it and we were then told that the corporate office would mail us back our $4,000 down payment. We purchased a vehicle on 4/18/23 and exactly 4 days after the warranty on vehicle was up, the car broke down due to the knock sensor going out. CARMAX will NOT take responsibility for fixing it even though this is something they should have caught in their multi point inspection. They haven't even tried to help, they just blew us off but still expect the monthly payment!! Worst experience of buying a vehicle and I have purchased a few!

Long story short. I reserved a car and was working on obtaining all the documents needed to buy. I went in 5 times and talked with them about buying the car. I had a trade in that they said$3000. I was approved financing $5000 down with my trade in. I went in to purchase the car and they said trade in expired. They needed to appraise it again. I bought a ************************ early 2022. Not even a year later, my car started making a clunking sound. Turns out I needed a whole new engine and turbo. During the purchase, I got the warranty package offered, bc I had a feeling. The warrant company is Fidelity. First, I was told to take the car to a certified mechanic, which I did. Very dishonest place! Paid to have a vehicle shipped to me. Test drove it was going to buy it when, they sold it right from out under me within 8 hours of me test driving it. Also saying I wanted to buy it. Place is a joke of a company.

Carmax doesnt accept electronic payments or overnight delivery of payoff payments. They only accept snail mail to a POBox. The insurance company made a payoff payment on August 22,2023 and it is now September 8th, 2023 and no payment has been posted. Their **************** is rude and there is a racial component to their attitude. Be warned!
