Had went in on Saturday 3/26/2022 and spoke to XAVIER R*****. Found a car online after almost going through their entire “inventory” and seeing nothing I personally liked. The **** ********* ******* was located in Killeen, the store nearest to me is in Austin so I didn’t think the transfer would take long. I gave consent to have my credit pulled for the finance application and even had a down payment ready TWICE. ONLY FOR XAVIER TO CANCEL MY TRANSFER ONCE WE LEFT CARMAX.
Was sold a car with an Active Recall, even though the paperwork clearly states that it was not! 1 year later the 4WD goes out and the dealer informs me that there was an active recall when I purchased the vehicle on the Transfer case, which is exactly what had occurred. The vehicle was still under warranty ,thankfully, because the module inside transfer case is not working either. Be Cautious! The vehicle I wanted had minor dings and paints chips on the car, but this was nothing that bothered me at the time, was not major. I noticed that every time I washed my car some of the paint on the bumper would flake off and I did not think anything of it. It has now been a year and with my tax returns I took the car in to have the pain touched up on the bumper and mirror. My husband and I have purchased cars from Carmax and nowhere else since 2008. Although prices on vehicles are slightly higher than other places, we've been loyal to carmax due to outstanding customer service in the past. l will like to say the General Manager(Greg S*********)at this location have a very bad attitude. I requested to speak with the general manager and upon his approach Greg S******** was very nasty, frowning his face, and showed no concern. He told me if I didn’t like what he was saying I can take my business elsewhere. Very unprofessional, no leadership displayed towards his sales team. I would never want anyone to feel the way I did.
I paid for a transfer of a car from Sacramento California to Phoenix Arizona. The car arrived a week later. I am told that it takes another 2 weeks for the title. I call again just to verify and I'm told that the car is ready to pick up. I schedule an appointment and pay for insurance, which CARMAX sent me an email to update prior to picking up the car. The location in Colorado Springs sells cars that are advertised as AWD when they are in fact only front-wheel drive. I bought a car without realizing it was advertised incorrectly and was over-charged by $*****. I called the location and they said that they would buy the car back from me and then sell the car back to me at the correct, lower price. My husband & I sold our car to Carmax in Escondido CA. We tried to purchase another car from them. It was a disaster. The car was a lemon. And they ran multiple hard inquiries, reducing our credit score. We returned the car, after several attempts to get it serviced. Nothing was done! And on our credit report it states we owe Carmax * *****! We don't have the car!
The worst car buying and ownership experience EVER! CarMax sold me a **** ******* ******with 74,000 miles on it, but did not disclose that the vehicle had a faulty engine. I drove the car for just six weeks before the engine seized up and the vehicle lost all power. I had to have it towed at my own cost. I called CarMax for support or to at least honor the NYS LEMON LAW and they refused. They told me that I was on my own.
