Carmax is a complete scam. They do not treat people with respect and dignity. They made a mistake on their end and then wanted to repo a vehicle I had been paying on. Besides that they accessed all kinds of fees for this and wi not even own up to it being their mistake and not mind. Never deal with these people. Stay far away.

i give them one star only because you cannot give any less. i wish I had read these first before I decided to buy another car from them. i've bought four cars from them in the past. I did not have any real problems before. this has been a nightmare. They sold me a car, then sold that very car to someone else. Would provide a zero if it allowed me. Got my car appraised at the carmax location in white marsh. Stated on the appraisal i had a leased *******. The person named i believe it was Chandra helped me and said i was all set and then realized it was a lease and said there was some leased vehicles they cannot help with but mine showed it was from ******* Lease and Titling and i was good and was on the acceptable list, but we could not reach them over the phone for buyout amount and apparently the email i printed showing it was n... read more

Bait & Switch. Reserved car I wanted. Talked to salesman immediately. Next day they said it was sold to someone else. They tried to suggest other cars. I am paying cash so didn't have to wait for financing etc. I truly feel they used a unique nice car to get people to call in and then try to sell other cars instead.

I found myself needing a vehicle, with the “crisis” as most are putting it, going on in this country right now with used vehicles I figured looking online would be my best bet. I was approved for a car loan from Carmax with a cosigner. I was approved, I chose a warranty and obtained Insurance for the car. After eight hours of completing the process and running my credit eight times, the Carmax representative Eduardo called and lied and said my cosigner had to have a drivers license in order for them to cosign. I explained to him that I had a vehicle I financed with this same cosigner without a License with no issues. Carmax practices false and deceptive business practices.

I purchased a **** ******* *******on may 31st vin # *****************. the sales department advised me that their is 1 recall on the vehicle and if I needed a loaner while the ******* dealership addressed the recall issue, that Carmax would supply me with a loaner. I called the authorized dealership (******* *******) and spoke with service advisor and was told that their were 5 recalls and it would most likely take 1 to 2 days to repair. I came there with and offer and then was pass on to a salesman telling me I have to do it through them because they can’t pull up my email when I receive 3 different emails from them. Ridiculous now I have to wait

Carmax is horrible. I was cosigning a for a car for my sister and talked to three different representatives and got three different decisions in a matter of two weeks. Each time my credit was run numerous times and caused my score to drop considerably. The down payment amount kept going up each time from $*** to $**** to $****.
