The lack of professionalism in the recovery ward was extremely lacking. If your patients are struggling coming out of anesthesia, your surgery schedule may need adjusting instead of trying to rush people out of the door asap in order to free up beds.
I had an in home sleep study in April of 2018. I was coded to my insurance company as an in-lab sleep study and they refused to pay. The request was never resubmitted. In April of 2019, I was sent a bill for the entire amount - even though the insurance company assured me that they pay for pre-approved in home sleep studies. I have called Ascension billing numerous times to resolve their billing error and their only response has been to send another bill and refer me to a financial aid organization.
My 18 year old had surgery on her foot. The surgeon as well as the staff were amazing in teaching, making sure I was informed of her progress as well as taking care of her and making her feel at ease.
My husband had a trailer hitch kick back on his foot. We went in at 0800 and were out by 0915. He received an exam, X-rays, consultation and treatment recommendations. Excellent care and education. Jen PA was very thorough and professional. Staff was efficient and friendly. Thank you.

My husband had an ER visit in January for a broken arm. The hospital is IN our network. We find out when we got a bill for for $5000, that the DR who treated him is OUT of network. It is not reasonable to expect a person being treated for an emergency, with no choice of who treated him, to ask every person entering the room if they’re in his network! The billing process has been a nightmare since Ascension took over. It’s the topic of many business and personal lunches . It’s unfortunate that those of us who have been long time Borgess supporters have had to endure problems since it came under the Ascension umbrella. I would hope that informing you of these concerns would bring about needed changes.
