On the positive note, I like how they keep track of needed vaccines/ meds and send reminders. However, in the past couple of years it appears they have taken more customers than they can handle. This is the second time my dog has an active ear infection, I have called 4 different locations near me and there is no appointment available (earliest appt available is 10 days out). So they take the monthly payments, but never have availability when my dog is sick. This seems extremely unethical as they should stop taking more custo... read more

As a practice full of pet lovers and owners, the health and well-being of pets is our top priority. While at times there is a delay in available in-hospital appointments, our teams do offer same day appointments, drop off/on-room appointments, virtual visits and 24/7 veterinary advice via VetChat. That all being said it does not sound as though these options were offered to you. We would like to learn more about your experience. I used the services of Banfield for 7 Years. Several things happened, and I changed locations thinking that it was specific to a location but it isnt. Banfield has vets on rotation, if you get a good one, great, if you dont, you probably wont know until its too late. I got my dog as a puppy and for the first few years she didnt need much attention, so things were fine. To keep it short Ill tell you about the last thing that happened, that really did it for me. I took my dog there for her preventative shot, and they told me s... read more

I got my first dog and went to Banfield as I saw they had plenty of locations in case I had to travel. They have predatory business practices, not information that I was signing a 1 year contract and wasted the coupon I brought. Signing up for a plan on day 1 would not have been necessary and just a scam to get me to pay. Then on the second visit, had incredibly distant appointment windows when needing to bring my dog in. As I had not seen an agreement stating it would be a 1 year contract nor advised of it, I chose to end m... read more

Banfield did the bare minimum and was only concerned about payment and not the deadly condition of my boy Tango. He was healthy and died from parvo that was caught early enough to survive. They barley gave him enough fluids and told me not to administer any at home because he would get better and do it himself. He kept getting sicker. I called frantically because he had become unresponsive and they told me to save the money for another clinic visit with them and take him to an emergency clinic that didnt open until 6 pm that... read more

DO NOT GET BANFIELD OPTIMUM WELLNESS PLANS (***) FOR YOUR PET!!!! I have been a paying customer for many years for my two dogs. Then on November 11, 2021, my dog ****** passed away, and a few days later I called Banfield to cancel ******'s ***. To my surprise, the customer service rep informed me that I owed $360.28 for canceling ******'s plan. Without going into too much detail, the customer service rep said because I am canceling ******'s plan, the previously rendered services at a "discounted" rate are now priced full pri... read more

THEIR PET PLANS CAN ROB YOU OF MONEY! I had to PAY THEM!! after my dog died TO GET HIM OFF OF THEIR WELLNESS PLAN. Heartless! Today, when I asked to get my cat OFF of their plan, they told me I had to pay $681.22 to remove him off of the plan OR pay $39.95 per month until 6/22/2022 when the plan expires. MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY. They also did a comprehensive exam on my cat but told my husband later when he picked her up, that they never even took her out of her kennel because they labeled her as biter!! In her chart. Terrible p... read more

Utterly in shock how this company continues to run as a scam. They say you can cancel at anytime. But that is a lie. This company does not care about hardships. Their appointments have changed and the level of service is no longer the same. This company is horrible. I hope all their customers realize how horrible and lack of empathy they have and hopefully this company can disappear. They should not be in business with unclear terms and conditions. I happy I am no longer a member...even though I had to pay a scam fee to get ... read more

I noticed that Banfield has responded to reviews asking the writer to contact the local Banfield. I had to laugh at that since I am never able to get through to them. When you call there is a message saying due to "COVID" wait times are extended. Then it tells you to select option 3, leave a message and they will call back. When you select option 3 it tells you the mail box is full and can not take messages. I have called back many times and tried all the options, there is no way to get through to them. This is not an isolat... read more

We tried out Banfield Pet Hospital for veterinary care today. They don't let owners back with your pets. They took Rodi, my 15 year old yorkie, back and kept her for an hour and a half. The Rodi we got back had clearly been hurt. She was yelping and screaming if we touched her neck and she spent 3 hours cowering and shaking after we got home. She has been to another vet since we adopted her this past summer AND she has been groomed and she has NEVER acted this way before. She was also covered in her own drool from her mouth ... read more
