Banfield is a scam with over priced services. They literally will keep your pet half a day to give your puppy their basic shots. I believe they do this in order to justify the large ****.I went to the *************, ** office and I tried to cancel this insurance at the end of one year. The staff would not allow me to do so and hence the second year of insurance is beginning again. Banfield Pet Hospital in *********, **. I have been in contact with Banfield, speaking with the Chief of Staff, and was unable to obtain answers or a true concern and apology. She, herself, stated the Doctors are spread thin, and that day she saw 35 animals. The most disgusting uncaring vet ever , I took a stray cat that came to my porch periodically , i called her ******************* , she came one day and she was limping. I personnaly inquired about simple guinea pig nail trimming service, for my kid, and was met with horrible customer service. A complaint was made and a manager called back. The manager was no better and could not address a simple kid pet issue. Very sad indeed. I am wondering, of all the services stated on their website, which one is a priority? Had a paper coupon for a free exam so I took my new rescue dog there. His ear wasn't looking too good and I was told by them it would be over $700 to treat, plus Mir emoney for antibiotics he needs for months after. I KNEW this was complete baloney so I declined and went straight to a pet supermarket store and bought a $9 ear infection spray, applied it 3x/ daily for a week and guess what. Banfield is STILL charging me the monthly fee for the Monthly Wellness Plan(***) even though I had to put my beloved dog to sleep at 12 years due to dementia and declining health. I was NOT informed about this during the 2 week discussion period with the Banfield vet and staff leading up to the very difficult decision to have my pet put to sleep. Banfield just lost another client. Weve been with them for years, had their wellness plan, and in any given year didnt even use most of the services included, so they made a good profit of us. Now that our dog passed away and I called to cancel the plan, they charged me $20 something in remaining balance. Come on, people, I understand that as a business you dont want customers to buy a monthly plan, use a load of services and cancel right away, but charging a grieving long-term customer a measly $20 bucks is just low. I am just now able the to write this. Its been 6months since my ****** boy has passed away. He was diagnosed with a heart murmur which was checked on a regular basis by Banfield. I made it a point to have him in there every month if not a couple times a month to make sure he was comfortable towards the end.
